How can I tell my parents that I don't believe in God in a way that will not anger them? By the way, I am 19 years old and I still live with them as I attend college. (Please, i don't want to hear any preaching from Christians. I firmly believe that religion is worthless, and i appreciate your concern, buy you would be better off not wasting your time.)

Are you living in Israel? If you are, tell me about your experience?

What's your religion? Your position on the state of Israel?

What is the treatment like for foreigners living in Israel?
Especially Arabs and non-Arab muslims?

All the complexities of God, how could God exist?

Who made God? How? Why? Usually I get the answer "He just is". Well faith alone is not good enough. Why would God make humans who know that faith alone is not good enough? Did he not know that "in his own image" creativity, was infact, flawed? Is this the supposed reason for 'free will' and so called 'salvation and faith'? If it is, then heaven will not be crowded!

I mean if people say they know god and fulfil the prophecy which says many will say Jesus name with their lips but their hearts are far from him! dosuch people really kNOW jesus? I dont think so! i think many people bear false witness, and have done this throughout history. I know reading the bible the is NOT the same thing as Knowing Jesus. I know that just because a person prays to god, they do not know God.
if a spirit came to them in a dream would they immediately call the spirit SATAN of if Satan appeared to them would they bow down and call him jesus?!!! You cant know who God is unless He came down and sat at dinner withyou like he did with abraham. or with Enoch. !!!
I believe you are all deceived and at worst liars

After the divine victory, a whole review is going about the military tanks designs.

I recently attended a conference at the Institute for Counter-Terrorism near Tel Aviv where senior military officers analysed the operational lessons of Israel's campaign in Lebanon. One of the most salient developments from the fighting was the prolific use of sophisticated anti-tank weaponry by Hezbollah.

During the 34-day conflict, the militia's fighters fired hundreds of anti-tank guided missiles that inflicted more than half of all Israeli combat fatalities. These weapons were used not only against conventional targets such as armoured vehicles but against dispersed infantry formations as well.

Major General Giora Eiland (retired), Israel's former national security adviser, described this deluge of missiles as one of the great tactical surprises of the war. And to their chagrin, the Israelis discovered that their top-of-the-line main battle tank, the Merkava Mark IV, was vulnerable to modern missiles with tandem warheads.

Just as Israel is engaged in self-evaluation, there is no doubt that a similar process of assessment is under way on the other side of the firing line.

Hezbollah commanders and their Iranian sponsors are doubtless closely studying what worked and what didn't. Islamic holy warriors from other fronts in the global jihad are also surely looking to Lebanon for tactical tips in their fight against the infidel. The roadside explosives and suicide vehicles that plague Western forces in Afghanistan and Iraq were first perfected by Hezbollah during the 1990s.

The effectiveness of the Lebanese Shi'ite militia's anti-tank tactics against Israel makes that stratagem a highly attractive model for imitation. Thus the coalition in Iraq and Afghanistan must prepare to encounter late-model anti-tank missiles in future engagements with jihadi insurgents. These sophisticated weapons are coming soon to a theatre of operations near you.

Yet as things now stand, the Australian army is woefully ill-prepared to meet this threat. The Russian Spandrel and Kornet missiles of Hezbollah were able to penetrate the sophisticated composite armour of Israel's 65-tonne Merkava. There is little doubt such weapons would prove to be effective against the flanks and rear of Australia's similarly protected Abrams tanks. Even worse would be the destruc`tion that modern anti-tank missiles would inflict upon the more lightly armoured elements of our mechanised forces. The Kornet's tandem warhead would punch through Australian ASLAVs, Bushmasters and M-113s with a terrible ease.

I went to war in 1982 on the back of an Israeli M-113. And I bear all the nostalgic affection for that Vietnam-era vehicle that a WWII tank general might have held for the horse-mounted cavalry of his youth.

I'm a 14 years old girl, and I'm rather confused of these things:
1. Do you think that "The DA Vinci Code" may be true? (I read it before and found it interesting and so many facts, u no!)
2. How do you know that Jesus was really born on 25 december?
3. Do you think that "the Gospel of Judas" is true?
4. Why can't we see God?
thx and Merry christmas to you all! Peace be with you!!

I asked athiests to explain their unbelief and got all really good answers. Now, Christians, why do you believe what you do? Were you raised Christian, did you have an experience, did God reveal Himself to you in some way, and do you question your belief? I would like real answers, not preaching please.

In the bible God in wisdom has instructed you to test all things by the scripture of God. And to test a matter by much prayer fasting and search out the matter in the word of God. Which all would consider wisdom. That being the case. Have you done that in reguards to your faith?
Long before the catholic or any other church was established God had a plan for the slavation of the human race. That salvation plan is called the Gosple. As God is God and to him belongs all the Glory he has to become the actualy person of salvation and he did that in the from of his son the lord Jesus Christ. This man overcame all temptation and sin was took captive and Christ became our advocate and high priest before God the father for all times and he became our one high priest. He alone now stands before God on behalf of man. Setting our prayers right and also praying for us. To him alone has this function been given. No earthly priesthood remains in effect, his priesthood is divine as he is.

LET'S PUT CHRIST FIRST

Let's put Christ first in Christmas
For that's where he belongs,
Before the chorus of Jingle Bells
Let's praise our Lord in song.
Before the merry ho! ho! ho!
Let's have a quiet thought
Of that first Christmas long ago,
The changes that it wrought.

We know him well when we see him
A baby in a manger,
But when we see him as a man
He then becomes a stranger.
Let's praise our Lord and Saviour
As we celebrate his birth,
And when the season's over
Let us still put him first.

There always seems to be an ongoing thing especially between the athiests and christians...

Personally I find it doubtful that most people's claims to be an athiest or Christian are trully legitimate...

I myself was brought up a Christian, became a athiest (and because frankly i was never convinced with either) i'm now happily in my place by being an agnostic which is the concept I truly beleive in

So what can we do to stop all these ill informed, ignorent so called 'religious' people from bogging down legitimately religious people and athiests?

2006-12-21 21:44:09 · 21 answers · asked by Anonymous

I am an agnostic/atheist and I am interested in this subject.
One thing that 'coloured' my view of religion was the way a priest spoke about an aquintance of mine, who commited suicide.

I am asking because I want to find out what diverse views there are within religions.
I am not after a flame war and will not express my own opinion about any of the answers.
The 'best answer' will be based on merit, not the opinion it contains.

ok..you know the song "what if God were one of us" by joan osbourne. as a Christian i was wondering is this song blasphemous, sacreligious, or making fun of God in any way. or is it actually making a good point for Christianity as in if the person you mistreat daily were God would you act differently.. trying to make a point that you know God loves us ALL so why do we mistreat others and not help etc. i was just wondering...cuz i can see both views....and i would really like to know.
