I mean if people say they know god and fulfil the prophecy which says many will say Jesus name with their lips but their hearts are far from him! dosuch people really kNOW jesus? I dont think so! i think many people bear false witness, and have done this throughout history. I know reading the bible the is NOT the same thing as Knowing Jesus. I know that just because a person prays to god, they do not know God.
if a spirit came to them in a dream would they immediately call the spirit SATAN of if Satan appeared to them would they bow down and call him jesus?!!! You cant know who God is unless He came down and sat at dinner withyou like he did with abraham. or with Enoch. !!!
I believe you are all deceived and at worst liars

To J. I dont think the bible is access to God! i think it was said correctly that many people imagine they know God. When Jesus said that people READ the scriptures they THINK they eternal life.
but thoughts and imagination can be self deceiving.

To Bender although what you say is true your answer didnt really apply to the question, athiest dont know what christians have been given when he bestows the spirit. But sometimes christians dont know what spirit they have! is it Demonic? is it sorcery and pharmecutical? many are decieved with spirits in the world. But SEEING God does help and generally one must complete sincere Faith before that happens.

Is there any god? There are good values attributed to personas that we all pray to. There are preachers who glorify these personas.Else I haven't seen a person who has actually met god. But faith can do miracles.

Well really god never really came down to Abraham nor Enoch. An angel actually came down to those people, and even Mary mother of god. See didn`t meet God, she actually met Gabriel the messenger of God. I do agree with you no one really knows God is person, I mean if you read the bible. Moses the only person every to actually get close to God, was staring at God`s back the entire time as he was writing down the ten commandments. Jesus wasn`t God you must remember, he was the son of God but he was also a human. So really everyone that met Jesus didn`t meet God, they met his Hippie son.

You know God when you get baptized with His Holy Spirit. Without the Holy Spirit you won't understand why Christians believe and have faith in God.
Getting the Holy Spirit is like a child receiving that special Christmas present he has always wanted. Except the Holy Spirit lasts forever.

Jesus said "if you have seen me you have seen the Father." Did he mean this literally, not at all. But his actions while on earth give us a glimpse of how God feels toward humans. The miracle's Jesus performed by means of his God given power, were all to the benefit of people. So when we learn of Jesus personality we can have a better idea of what God is like and in a sense KNOW him.

from memory Jesus is quoted in the bible as having said that in his Fathers kingdom there are many mansions .No doubt the great souls living in the masions in Gods kingdome know him, and when ,out of their causless compassion and mercy, they come to this world,[like Jesus did]they truly know God.In this world if we can meet and become a disciple of an eterally pure soul like Jesus who has decended only to help the fallen souls know God then by their mercy we may also come to know God.The kingdom of God is really a Kingdom full of eternally pure sons daughters servents etc of God.By the arangment of the lord there are always one or two pure souls decended on earth available for those sincere souls who are really crying in their hearts to know and love God

If you had a birthday cake would you say it was an airplane or if an airplane came and landed on your table would you call it a birthday cake? If the birthday cake turned out to be a lamp that lit up as bright as the sun would you be able to see what's right in front of your face? If someone died to give you life would you want to know it?

To you I say 'To each an his own' Knowing GOD is a personal thing and sometimes you can't go by what you hear. You can't know Jesus until you act like him. Stick with it! Keep reading the Bible to know what Jesus is about. Pray that one day you'll get to know him.

There are some who try to imagine God.
As for Jesus, the religion he had was rather different from the religion of church people today. They call themselves Christian, but they are not.
For example, Jesus said in order to be saved you must sell all that you own and give the proceeds to the poor. How many church people would want to do that.

Jesus said that you would know his disciples by the spiritual fruits, or qualities, that they would bear. As you say, Jesus also warned us that many would call on his name and not be acknowledged by him or his Father. It is not up to us to condemn other souls, but we can distance ourselves from them, and not associate with them.
Jesus said that his followers would know him, and his Father.
Each of us will be judged by Jesus, who gets the authority to do so from his Father.
Every man is a liar, and each of us are sinners. To proclaim our self otherwise is to identify our self as a hypocrite.
These are a few of the things I have learned from reading the scriptures, and that I have been taught.

No. Of course not. If they knew God you would have the answers to lifes questions. People imagine that thye have a relationship with god because they pray to him. But he hasnt EVER answered anyone. What does that tell you?
***EDIT
To ROCKY ROAD : I was baptized and later chose to turn away from my catholic roots. I used some commen sense and looked at religion from all sides of the box and came to this coclusion on my own. There is no TRUTH, only faith and belief.
