LET'S PUT CHRIST FIRST

Let's put Christ first in Christmas
For that's where he belongs,
Before the chorus of Jingle Bells
Let's praise our Lord in song.
Before the merry ho! ho! ho!
Let's have a quiet thought
Of that first Christmas long ago,
The changes that it wrought.

We know him well when we see him
A baby in a manger,
But when we see him as a man
He then becomes a stranger.
Let's praise our Lord and Saviour
As we celebrate his birth,
And when the season's over
Let us still put him first.

Yes I too agree with this poems sentiments,if you take Jesus out of Christmas then it is meaningless and not worth celebrating.
Have a very happy Christmas and may the infant Jesus be very close to you and your Family.

Well, I don't think it's the most genius of all poems, but I don't think you are looking for literary criticism.

I think this poem is a reaction against the commercialization of a traditionally religious holiday and is meant to serve as a reminder to Christians what Christmas should be about. While it may serve the Christian population. It means very little to those who do not celebrate Christmas as a religious holiday, but rather as a time to be merry and joyous. As humans, we need holidays and religion does serve up good excuses for such events.

My specific beliefs do not matter and should not matter to you.
