Im curious. I keep hearing people say the Bible was a book written by men, to control the masses, or possibly just a story book. Now Bible Believers tend to believe it was written by MANY different men, over the course of hundreds of years. So my question is.....

If you believe the Bible is only a story, then how do you believe it came about? Was it started by one guy, and other people just kept adding to it, or was it one guy just making the whole thing up, maybe his friends helped? And how old is it? Was it written when they made up Christ, or started before?

Im just curious, I know what Bible believers think, Im wondering how Bible Critics think it went.

He was born of a virgin.

He was both God and man.

He died on a tree.

He rose from the dead.

He gave eternal life to his devotees, who commemorated his death with a ritual meal of bread and wine. They considered themselves "washed with the blood".

Recognize him?

It's MITHRAS! Guess who came first??

Jesus is nothing but ripoff! Merry Mithras to all! Ho ho ho!

It is the feast of lights

but I will let you tell what happened if you know

and I believed the prophecies to come to know our Jewish Messiah for all the world

Isaiah 9:6 "Unto us a child is born a son is give, and he will be the prince of peace, almighty God, and the wonderfull counselor."

Isaiah 52:13-53:12 "He will be exalted. first marred more than any man. He will be despised and rejected. All we like sheep have gone astray and the Lord will put on Him the iniquity of us all. He will lay down his life to make atonement for our sins. He will die with the wicked and be burried with the rich. he will see his seed and prosper."

are you the seed of the light of the world-as He said he is

"I am the light of the world if you follow me you wont walk in darkness but have the light of life. As he stood int he temple and declared in the winter feast. John chapters 10-12

I had this teacher who I aggrevated with questions mostly ones she did not know the answer to (no body else did either for the most part). One day she looked angrily and told me I had to stay after school. I thought I was in big trouble.

After everyone left she told me I had to write my questions down because I was disrupting the class, and she would answer them as asked. I asked if she was mad at me for asking questions and she said no that there are only good questions and that asking questions was the fastest route to the truth.

On here I see many think questions are an irritation and classified as ridiculus by the answerers sometimes.

Are there really any stupid questions or are there only stupid people who think they have no questions left??? and do not even entertain the quetions of others either???

Chinese traditionally believes in predestined life. But it can be changed for anyway one wants if experts: astrologers or palmists are consulted. Usually they would suggest ways or living styles to change life usually for the better. Now comes the Christians some believe if they are saved it is because God already made them the elect even before they were born. So, that is to say, whatever you are you cannot have that life changed. If you do changed, it is because that was your predestined life. In other words, when one is an athiest, Christian, Buddhist, Taoist, Muslim etc it is because that is what he is according to the predestination. He would remain as such until kingdom comes.

I'm confused, my science teacher or the dumb priest? , My science teacher said that we evolve from some sort of a Ape , and the adaptation , survival , facing natures severity learning skills and love to the children has bring us to this stage. My friend told me that we are made from clay balls, and a priest told me that we are from Adam and eve, the world is made in six days.. I feel like its better to study the easy way. So I can just simply write the bible content to my science exam. The god is poerfull and he made the world in 6days . end of story!!! But . .
I want to be a science person to help the cancer researches or AIDS. what should I follow?

OK I keep hearing about how the new religion of "Secular Humanism" is trying to take over and wash away everything good and decent in the world (yes I am exaggerating)

Anyway what I am curious about is WHY do people call it a religion?

Definition of secular is as follows:
"1. of or pertaining to worldly things or to things that are not regarded as religious, spiritual, or sacred; temporal: secular interests.
2. not pertaining to or connected with religion (opposed to sacred): secular music.
3. (of education, a school, etc.) concerned with nonreligious subjects.
4. (of members of the clergy) not belonging to a religious order; not bound by monastic vows (opposed to regular)."

Is it a lack of knowledge about the English language that is the cause of this inappropiate name?

WHY would people term a new philosophy that is about not letting religion control society a new religion?
