5 out of 16 answers referred only to what God said in the OT--so Christ was not God? Or was his message of peace and love not important enough to listen to?

ever since i can remember i'v always been attracted to men. i'm 85 years old now and have been a practicing gay for 70 years. i live in constant pain because of how my peopl view homosexuals, i had to marry a woman i dont love and had to lie to her and act straight for all my life. i have to live in shame because of how my fellow christians act towards homosexuals. isn't time we stop this madness and allow people to do whatever they want?

Currently they discriminate against non-Christians and against gays. Is that their right? Is it their right to discriminate against, oh, whites, for instance?

I see people all the time on the board posting "Ban Religion", but we all know that would never be possible. I understnad that over the years religion has spread hateful, and intolerant messages, and going back all the way to the Crusades, has cause death. ALL religions have in one form or another.

My question is, how would you make it work, so as to "ban" religion, and yet allow people their individual rights to belief of A God, multiple Gods, or Goddesses, or ANY belief, without losing it?

Without all the commercialism and secularism, Christmas would rank behind Halloween and Easter on holidays. I've heard "Jesus is the reason for the season" a million times, but I disagree. Even the date is stolen from the pagans.

I just heard about a toddler in Houston who was ran over by a family member today, just hours before his baptism.

Since we wasn't baptised yet, does this mean he didn't repent, thus he will go to hell?

Is there a bigger meaning you could think of behind this?

"Christians claim that ths particular universe can be explained as God's choice, taken from an infinite range of alternatives, for reasons that are unknown to us. But even an omnipotent God cannot break the rules of logic. God cannot make 2=3, or make a square a circle. The hasty assumption that God can create any universe must be qualified by the restriction that it be logically consistent. Now if there exists only one logically consistent universe then God would effectively have had no choice at all. If there really is only one possible sort of creation, why do we need a creator at all? What function could he have save for "pushing the button" to set the thing going? But such a function does not require a mind--it would merely be a triggering mechanism and even that is not needed in the world of quantum physics. So does this philosophy of a uniquephysical solution to the fundamental logical-mathemtical equation of the universe deny the existence of God? Indeed not.

of the Holy Spirit who has sealed us to the day of Redemption?

I had a difficult night last night when my toilet pipes got plugged & my husband angrily blamed me, & doubted who I was in Christ & the Holy Spirit was grieved.

So, why does the Holy Spirit grieve so quickly & is it because this is close to Blasphemy of the Holy Spirit where there are immediate conscequences?

I read this on a site I found here, while researching. The site is aish.com, a site for Jewish philosophy, etc.,:

"All my days I grew up among the wise, and I have not found what is good for the body other than silence (Ethics of the Fathers1:17).

In his famous instructions on the "golden mean of virtue," Maimonides states that a person should avoid either extreme of any character trait."

I really don't know why I struggle so much; is it because what I thought I believe is not true? How does one truly discern what is right, wrong, true, etc? What I think is true, isn't true by societies standards? What if what I have been raised to believe isn't the truth? What does one do to figure it all out?

I want to ask a priest something but first I need to know if it says anywhere in the bible if being afraid is a sin. I have a general answer... That God says not to be afraid. And one of the ten commandments are to obey.

That is supposed to orbit our Earth every 3,600 years or something and reverse the poles, shift and destroy everything material and throw the Earth into an ice age...(something like that, who knows how it would really go down anyway).

Is there evidence for it in any holy book? Has any scientists found it up there in the Heavens yet?
