Jesus told us to cast all our cares to him because He cares for us. So if we are afraid and don't give it to Him and we know He wants us to, we are sinning knowingly. If we don't know that God wants us to give him our fears then it is an innocent sin covered by the blood.
When one is fearful, one is not yet made perfect in love.
Do not be afraid for the Lord thy God is with you. He will never leave you or forsake you.
Usually fear results because of not trusting God. (devil in the background) Doubt. Without faith it is impossible to please God, for those who seek Him, must believe that God Is and is a rewarder to those who diligently seek Him.
Renew your mind in the Word of God for you are Gods child and need to learn Gods truth. The Truth sets us free. Then when doubts or fear thoughts enter your thinking, cast them down by speaking outloud one Gods Promises (scripture).
Like if you are afraid you might die because you are sick, claim, "By your stripes I was healed. You sent your Word & healed me of all my diseases. You said that if I honored my parents, that I may be blessed with long life...".
Remember that God hasn't given us a spirit of fear, intimdation, etc... but a spirit of power, love and sound mind.
But I have to add that we need to be obedient to God even if we are shaking in our boots. We need to work out our salvation in fear and trembling. When Paul wrote this, it was after He was horribly persecuted for the Gospel sake. God told Him to do something & He obeyed even though anxious.
I have been wounded also and told a testimony where I had been wounded before in it (rejected). I answered their question with my whole testimony & had an anxiety attack in the process. Visual signs are splots, redness, shakes & emotional wear out. Well days later, God gave me a vision of God putting a crown on my head and hearing, "I give you a crown of courage, for saying that to ...".

If being afraid was a sin then that would have disqualified Jesus as savior because He was afraid. He was human and God all at the same time. He felt saddness, lonliness, anger, and fear. Imagine standing before men who hated you more than anyone has hated anything. And KNOWING you were going to die. No white knight riding in to save Him. Fear is definately not a sin.

When I was a christian, I found that if I looked at anything hard enough, I could find "sin" in it. I'm sure fear is there too. Let's see...it means you're not trusting god enough and being full of pride! Yup! A sin!

...In 1 John 4:18, the Bible says, "Perfect love casts out fear." Now, if you are believer in Christ, God loves you perfectly; that should take care of your fear.
...What's the worst that could happen? You could die, right? Even if a Christian dies, he or she goes to be with Christ, so what is so wrong with that? Death, the worst that could happen, is no big deal.
...Another way to look at it: If you are fearful, look for the loving thing to do, then do it.

Did Jesus sin in the Garden of Gethsemane, when He sweated drops of blood, and begged His Father to take this cup from Him?
An angel came to Him to comfort and strengthen Him.
Do you suppose Jesus was afraid? I believe the human side of Him was terrified...wouldn't you think so?
And yet, Jesus was without sin.
OTH, God promises us that perfect love casts out fear...

2 Timothy 1:7 (Whole Chapter)
For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
Ask for forgiveness and receive the Holy Spirit...That's where strenght and courage comes from...

Even heroes are afraid.
They just don't let their fear stop them from doing the right thing.
Either their faith in god or their strong moral compass still allows them to rish their lives to save others.
But remember fear is a survival mechanism when it works it prevents you from doing stupid things live climbing mountains and freezing to death.
