I think this is where Calvinism really shines in its theology. If I'm truly saved, it's not because of anything that I did or decision I made; rather it's because of what Christ did for me and God the Father acting through predestination and irresistible grace, giving me the ability to persevere because of that grace within me, not my own actions for myself. My confidence then is an Almighty God who is powerful enough to keep me in the palm of His hand and carry me through to eternal life.

Being "saved" in terms most churces use today means either
1) accepting Jesus as your personal savior
2) being filled with holy spirit
3) being in line for heavenly life when you die.
However, it was Jesus himself that stated at Matt 24:13 that it is the "one who endures to the end," this is the one that is saved.
Therefore, claiming that you are currently "saved" is a fallacy as this can only apply to those who have lived their lives satisfactorily in God's eyes all the way to their death.
Sorry, but there is no feeling.

I know I'm truly saved because my heart has changed. Things that I used to find acceptable are now appalling. I am more patient now. My heart has softened. There has been repentance in my life, anyone who knows me can tell you how much I've changed.

The only way to know 100% is to die.
If you meet God then you are saved. If you don't you aren't.
It doesn't matter what the Bible thumpers say, or what the fundamentalist say - you NEVER know you are "saved" until you meet God.
Being "saved" isn't a destination, it is a journey.

You can't know. The good thing is that it will forever be a psychological tool used to demand obedience and unquestioning submission. It is less efficient if you let your subjects *know* that they are 100% right in assuming their reward.

Were you born? If you are alive right now, you are most likely going to cross over. Religion has NOTHING to do with the eternal life of your soul.
