well it should mean communication with god, thus growing in fellowship with god. however today it is more something we use to ask god for something we usually dont even need. using it like that is making it into false hopes, and really no different then wishing on a star.

What prayer means to me is that prayer is how I communicate to my God, my Creator, my heavenly Father and opens my self up to having Him communicate with me. It is through prayer that my intimacy and my relationship with God has grown. To me prayer is a two way form of communication and anytime you are talking to God or He is talking to you, you are praying.
In the beginning of my relationship with God, through Jesus, I was the one who did all of the talking. In time I learned how to be still and listen to what God had to say about whatever I was presenting at the time. This to me was really the beginning of my intimacy with God. Understanding and accepting that God really does take the time to listen to me when I talk to Him and that He never belittled me for asking repetitive questions or even unintelligent questions. I have found that God is always available to talk to and when I talk from my heart and truly seek out His will or guidance for me in any situation He is always their and willing to help.
In the bible I get to learn about God, who He is, His nature, His heart, His mindset, His perspective towards mankind and the role between man and God. Through prayer I actually get to know God in person.

prayer to me, is a chance i get to speak to God personally. My time to give him thanks for evertyhgin that i have and my fam and friends and for my life. For each 16 and 9 months that i have been living without any realy complications. It si my chance to speak to God with all my heart. To tell him my problems.
