ever since i can remember i'v always been attracted to men. i'm 85 years old now and have been a practicing gay for 70 years. i live in constant pain because of how my peopl view homosexuals, i had to marry a woman i dont love and had to lie to her and act straight for all my life. i have to live in shame because of how my fellow christians act towards homosexuals. isn't time we stop this madness and allow people to do whatever they want?

My dear friend, all we can do is what we've been doing (if we're politically active in the GLBT communities) and offer kindness towards one another. It's the nature of the world we've been born to.

We live in a world where ignorance and arrogance and self-cherishment are the rule of the day, while they're busy foisting that view on everyone else. Unless they're getting physical, their behavior is simply arrogance and ignorance. You shouldn't feel shame for who you are, their arrogance and ignorance will reap consequences for themselves and they shouldn't be causing you to call yourself into question because their philosophy holds no "water" logically. Be proud of who you are, and who you love and ignore them unless they're hurting you physically.

May I suggest a hearty dose of Michaelangelo Signorile and call a hot doctor in the morning? LOL

I'm sorry that this has happened to you. The bible does say that homosexuality is a sin. However I choose not to judge homosexuals with my religous views. I do not agree, however, with the fact that you married a woman you did not love and lied to her, thats not fair to her or yourself. And if you have been a practicing gay for 70 years than you have cheated on her which is also a sin. Maybe you should look into how deep your faith runs. Have you ever prayed asking god to help? Your fellow christians aren't threatening you with hell because they hate you, they are threatening you because they love you and want to help you. And people are allowed to do whatever they want. Its called free will, which you have used when sleeping with men behind your wifes back.

there's many ignorant ppl out there. It shouldn't matter what you decide to fo with your life, you're still a human being and all ppl should be treated with respect. I have several gay friends and I'm the secratary of the so-called 'gay club' at my college. My fiancé is the Vice President. Everyone should love one another. I believe God loves everyone. He may not agree with a lot of choices His children makes but He love them no matter what.
There's a passage in te Bible - no idea which one - but it says that all sins are the same in God's eyes. A lie is the same and murder - it holds the same value. We all lie, some murder, some sleep with thesame sex, soem sleep outside of marriage - so what. If its all the same to God, why do people stress and chastize people about it?
Good luck and just be who you are.

God does love you however your sexual prefrence is a perversion. My thoughts on this are that if a person were truly born gay then they would be able to procreate. Yes you can come back and say that there are straight couples that can not procreate however there are some that can. There has never been a gay couple that have reproduced together. The thing that you were born with is more of a certain chemical and or hormone. Those are my thoughts. God loves you and hope that you would come to him for this issue instead of fostering it. If you ask forgivness for your sin and are trying to abstain then you will go to heaven. Remember we are all human and we all sin and no sin is greater than another.

In my own humble opinion--you should be able to do whatever you want, just don't cry about the consequences. But marrying a woman under false pretenses is the worst kind of injustice to her--and it sounds like you know what that word entails. But of course, I could be wrong--its just an opinion.

That's the problem with this world to begin with. GOD gave people free will and if you chose the lifestyle you have chosen, then you must live with the consequences. Everyone has sexual fantasies, but if you are lead into tempation then this is the price you pay. Don't ask people to accept the way you are knowing that it's wrong in GOD's eyes. You need to realize that these people care about you and your soul. No one wants anyone to go to hell. You are a smart enough person to understand that what you are doing is a sin and people shouldn't have to accept it. Thank you and good luck.

Of course. It's time Christians took Jesus' example and stopped judging people and loved them instead. Can you imagine Jesus getting mad at you for being gay?

Why did you have to pretend, knowing that God sees it all?

Who cares what others say as long as you're at peace with yourself and the superior being you worship?

I'd say, chill down and vive la vida loca.

Ignorant people rule our world and it is sad. Judging and hating is ignorant. Love a person not a label!
