You do realize that Catholics are Christian, don't you? In fact, they make up onver half the Christians in the world and are the original Christian church (you know, the one founded by Jesus).
Would your family have a problem if you married someonne from a different proteatant faith -- like a Lutheran or Methodist? Or do they only have problems with Catholics?
Catholics are allowed to marry non-Catholics. You could get married in a Protestant Church or a Catholic Church. You could have both a minister and a priest, if you like.

Some Christians do not don't forget Roman Catholics to be truly Christians, and those are most commonly protestants. But pretty much, Roman Catholics are Christian however no longer all Christians are Catholic. Roman Catholics are lead via the Pope in Rome. Protestants do not respect the Pope's authority and are equipped into countless numbers of one of a kind denominations. The Eastern Orthodox(Greek Orthodox, Russian Orthodox) additionally don't respect the Pope, even though their teachings and ceremonies are similar to the Roman Catholics. The Eucharist is meant to be Jesus's Body and Blood, this can be a Holy Sacrament, an overly primary side of Catholic church rite. I do not feel in it. I can type of realise the proposal however I am no longer Catholic or Christian. Never be fearful of asking questions of your priest or fellow parishioners.

Since the two religions do share alot of similarities, Catholicism being a part of Christianity, the wedding wont be a big deal it depends on the families though. I would get married in the church of whatever family is stronger in their beleifs, as it wouldnt be too much of a stretch either way.

Roman Catholicism is a Christian denomination. Did you mean to say that you are protestant? If so then, you can be married in a protestant church and have a catholic priest preform the mass at the same time. My sister did it when she married a catholic.

From your question, it is obvious that you have no respect for the catholic faith or your fiance.
For the sake of your fiance, break off the engagement.
