I see people all the time on the board posting "Ban Religion", but we all know that would never be possible. I understnad that over the years religion has spread hateful, and intolerant messages, and going back all the way to the Crusades, has cause death. ALL religions have in one form or another.

My question is, how would you make it work, so as to "ban" religion, and yet allow people their individual rights to belief of A God, multiple Gods, or Goddesses, or ANY belief, without losing it?

I say take another approach. All men are created equal - so are religions. Banning other kinds, colors or creeds doesn't work. Neither does trying to say one is superior to the other. With people or religions. I like the term higher power because so far it is one of the most peaceful terms I have seen. The ? you ask to me is a modern form of racism. I highly doubt that any higher power would look favorably on the world right now. It's easy for people to use excuses to do whatever they want & justify it. If you are not a believer you don't have to be. I follow the Bible & it doesn't say one person or religion is better than another. It says there are choices. I choose not to be religiosly racist. Hope I helped.

If you ban religion, then you ban peoples freedom to express their beliefs. We should all just be more tolerant of each others opinions and beliefs. This forum is to ask for opinions of others not to put people down for their beliefs. To ban something means to make it go away and not allow it. This country was built on our freedoms...one of which is freedom of religion and to believe and practice your beliefs without retribution. Let's keep it that way.

It wouldn't be right to ban religion. People have to make up their own minds. Hopefully religion will go the way of the Greek and Roman gods. No one believes in those anymore, but they didn't have to be banned. Religion is dying on the vine. I wish it would end in my lifetime, but it will probably take a few hundred more years.

I wouldn't ban religion, the "happy medium" is a freedom of religion and even freedom to have no religion, as long as we adhere to this, people of differing beliefs can coexist.

I wouldn't ban religion - I just insist that if you claim a faith you live by it. The ones spreading hate and death are not doing it in accord with their faith, but in spite of it.

Banning one's religious beliefs while granting individual freedom to worship is a contradiction in terms and in concept.

A psychic with a piece of chocolate cake?

A happy medium for me would be a truly secular society. Keep religion out of the schools, out of laws, out of policies. Its place is in the home and in the church.

I think people need to learn to seperate things. god is for home and your self personally. laws, school, politics ect are god netural.
don't vote for laws or politians based on religion, never deny the rights of others based on your own beliefs.
and never force other to belive what you. and monitor your speech as to not offend someone when they ask you to

Religion may not be openly practiced, or advocated for in public/government places. Private properties is fine. Religious symbols may not be present on public property.

Religions/religious organizations/religious groups/personalities may not comment on politicians or politics. No religious affiliated group may be formed to advocate on political matters. Political groups must not be condoned or advocated for by religious groups.

Hmmm. I guess that's as close as I could get it. Wouldn't it be wonderful if we could actually talk about political matters that concern the present day without arguing about whether Jesus is coming back in our lifetimes?
