I just heard about a toddler in Houston who was ran over by a family member today, just hours before his baptism.

Since we wasn't baptised yet, does this mean he didn't repent, thus he will go to hell?

Is there a bigger meaning you could think of behind this?

First of all, I believe God is fully capable of deciding the right destination for that child.

Second, baptism is God's covenant with His people, not anything His people do for God. The fact that the child was in a Christian home is an indication of the authority in that household (meaning the parents) conducting their home in a Christian manner and raising their child accordingly. Baptism, like OT circumcision, places a mark on God's property, and that child was on his way to get his own mark. The covenant was in the process of being fulfilled, and not quite physically making it to that point makes no difference. Think covenant, authored by the Almighty Himself.

Baptism has nothing to do with going to heaven. Its more like a comand that we are suposed to fufill to show our loyalty. If he intended to get baptised, then he is okay.
