Are we only our past karma or sins?

Are we the cognitive reactions to past actions?

Like Newton's Third Law, but on a cognitive level?

What do you believe is the purpose of life?

2006-12-13 18:08:42 · 17 answers · asked by Searcher 7

Well the point of this is NOT to try and make everyone here angry but rather, to merely point things out from both sides of the fence. First off is God actually real? Many believe, Many do not, I am one of those that believe in the possibilitie of God but not quite sure. I would like people to prove/disprove the Exsistance of God. Yes I know many will refer to wind, That can be explained by science. Evolution is possible but if you wanna know more about the science of that ask me, I'll explain. However, Why would someone Randomly just make up a story? better yet why do many live by the words of a 2000 year old writer? Has anyone played the game telephone as children? you know what happens when stuff gets passed on. But anyways the point was not to annoy all of you rather to get some answers, please do not post rude statements about other peoples beliefs just because they dont match your own, its just not a right thing to do. Thanks For your Time.

I believe sept elevleth was an inside job, and this is what happened...

I believe the planes were under remote control, I believe a missle hit the pentagon. I believe bombs were in the towers. I believe Flight 93 was shot down.

I believe this was done as a pretext to form world governemnt

I believe this world government will be a one world powerful Evil. I am against it. I believe you will have to show your support for this by taking an RFID Chip in ur right hand or forehead.

If you dont you will be arrested and esxcuted,

I also believe Bush is a devil worshipper, and thats what the NWO Is all about.

Mr. Short's return the night before last availed me of your favour of Aug. 12. I immediately ordered the shoes you desired which will be ready tomorrow. I am not certain whether this will be in time for the departure of Mr. Barclay or of Colo. Franks, for it is not yet decided which of them goes to London. I have also procured for you three plateaux de dessert with a silvered ballustrade round them, and four figures of Biscuit. The former cost 192't, the latter 12't each, making together 240 livres or 10. Louis. The merchant undertakes to send them by the way of Rouen through the hands of Mr. Garvey and to have them delivered in London. There will be some additional expences of packing, transportation and duties here. Those in England I imagine you can save. When I know the amount I will inform you of it, but there will be no occasion to remit it here. With respect to the figures I could only find three of those you named, matched in size. These were Minerva, Diana, and Apollo.

The Bible is not one book about one religion or one people, it is a bunch of books about people in general and altogether a story that is literal in someways, but can not be understood in the most important ways based on single words or sentences, or even chapters or verses. The Story of Jesus is amazing when comprehended with imagination and spirit, but it makes little sense as a actual and complete story of the Son of God. In the first place, we can not prove that there is a God or a son of god.
So, we have to fill in the blanks, construct the life and times of Jesus in our own minds to come to terms with the real story which is certainly not word for word a representation of the absolute truth about anything except that people have always believed in Gods and sometimes even we are able to have faith in an idea or reality that somehow life works out. But the three groups of rich white men mentioned above seem blind to the richness of the story and the significants of Jesus.

Someone commented on this in here and I wanted to address it. I have to say no. I'd be interested in others thoughts on this however.

Dogs and cats sometimes eat their own young.

Many animals kill the babies of another to protect their food source.

Many male mammals kill the offspring of another male merely to bring the female back into fertility so they can mate with her and propogate their species.

Ants raid other nests and enslave ants from other nests.

No animal decides not to eat the babies of another because they are babies. They have no mercy in that way.

Many species of insect invade habitats and takeover with no regard to sustaining the environment. Locusts, parasites, germs.

No animal logically controls their population to protect a habitat. The equalibrium comes by starvation and one critter killing off another critter.

There is no peace in the animal world, no morals. The do what they must to survive. Survival of the fittest.

Why is it if you don't believe the same as the Christians they feel they have the right to pray for you. As a Wiccan, I would never do a spell on someone without their permission. I know I never gave a Christian permission to pray for me but now that I have asked this I am sure there are several who will pray for me.... or try to prey on me.

I was at Colo. Peter Randolph's about a Fortnight ago, & my Schooling falling into Discourse, he said he thought it would be to my Advantage to go to the College, & was desirous I should go, as indeed I am myself for several Reasons. In the first place as long as I stay at the Mountains the Loss of one fourth of my Time is inevitable, by Company's coming here & detaining me from School. And likewise my Absence will in a great Measure put a Stop to so much Company, & by that Means lessen the Expences of the Estate in House-Keeping. And on the other Hand by going to the College I shall get a more universal Acquaintance, which may hereafter be serviceable to me; & I suppose I can pursue my Studies in the Greek & Latin as well there as here, & likewise learn something of the Mathematics. I shall be glad of your opinion.

my home is my sanctuary, I am only comfortable here. I can not go to a supermarket let alone a church, and when I hear a knock at the door I feel overwhelming panic, even if it's a missionary or what ever a door to door god peddler is called.
How can I feel faith in a religious way? I think it's what I need.

God.....he's a big influence on a lot of ppl ain't he. As was he to me for most of my life. But Faith isn't what it was before, at least to me. I recently lost my faith in my God. But not in the all so dramatic "God hates me, my life suks" kind of way. But after a while I started to feel the way I would when confronted with religions that weren't my own. It wasn't truth to me and I wasn't going to believe it. "Have faith and just believe", but that feels like giving up and deny what you feel is right. Being ingorant for the sake of salvation. I can't/won't believe in something that doesn't feel real. But yet I am the one who is lost?? Because I'm thinking about this logically? So here's my question to you. Though I don't believe, yet live a good/happ life, a good moral life, perhaps even better than most catholics; will your God still condemn me to the fiery gates of this supposed Hell? Perhaps use Hell to as a tool of fear?? What makes my life nothing and yours more?....IN YOUR EYES

On what grounds is it wrong. If it benefits me or my loved ones why then is it wrong? Don't the ends justify the means? Animals do it all the time and since i am an animal i am simply acting naturaly. Athiest's always say they have a moral code they follow and thats all fine an dandy, but what makes their morals absolute? I always hear "as long as you arn't hurting anyone" to justify sin. But why limit to that. Why not hurt people? Morals are simply relative with out God. Please let me know of your personal opinion. I'm not trying to be rude just curious on how an Athiest calls somthing good/evil, right/wrong, and somthing the truth.

I was sitting in the park the other day, and a older woman came up to me and stated: Their seem to be a lot on your mine, I don't no you but, when I look in your eyes see that you are! CHESSED, when I ask her what does that mean? She said, when you find out what the word mean, then you will no who you are, I could not say the word (Chessed), so I ask her to wright it down, she did and just walk away without saying another word. I have never hade a situation like that to happen to me, so I sit along thinking about my incounter woundering who was that? Then I siad that God send people in our lives everyday, maybe its not for me to no who she was, but try to unstand why she came, it felt like a ray of sunshine went though me, unfortunaly I was not able to get her name, but the peace she left with me I still feel. So if anyone out there knows what Chessed means let me no. It sound Jewish to me, but then again, maybe not.

I think the symbolism of this time of year is very appropriate to the symbolism of the birth of Christ. The days become shorter, and at this pivotal time, the days start to get slowly but surely longer. So it really symbolizes the hope that Jesus brings into the world.

So what could be wrong with celebrating at this time?

I see christians asking "why are atheists here?" and "why are you here if you don't want to hear truth?" and "why are you here if you don't want to hear preaching?" They act as if there is only one religion in this world and that they have the market on spirituality.

Well, I'm here to talk to pagans/wiccans and buddhists and mystics and hindus and muslims and taoists and deists and atheists and agnostics and all the other people that aren't xtian.

So to you fellow "non-believers" and "heathens"....why are you here?
