I am not Christian, however as a religious person I have respect for peopel who actually care about thier religion. Now it seems to me that letting retail stores emphasize christmas actually cheapens the holiday much more than it emboldens it. The stores are essentially competing with each other in to bribe you to purchase merchandise . The same type of argument goes with christian themed music being sung in public schools, do you want your religious music to be forced onto people who are not the same religio as you? Doesn't it cheapen the songs the know that there are students singing who really could not care less?

noticed most religions are kinda named after a person. I know Islam is just the action of submitting to God, but for example: Buddhism, Christianity... if you wanted to name a religion yourself what would that name be? Why?

This was AFTER the Great Pyramid in Egypt was built so precisely. He received mathamatical equations from Angels on how to build that pyramid. People back then were very primitive and had no knowledge of how to build such a thing. It it the only most fascinated thing on earth.
Why was Enoch taken up in the sky, fully clothed and aware he didn't die and was going somewhere! The same measurements/equations used for the pyramid were also used for Noah's ark. Why was the pyramid built? It was suppose to be a tomb for Enoch. The Egyptian government forbids anyone from photographing the interior of the pyramid. Why do you think this is?

If the first sentence of Revelations is wrong and what was presented in there is literal and not symbolic, thus the 144,000 is suppose to be drawn from literal Israel, than weren't they suppose to accept Christ as the Messiah, in the time of the end? To my knowledge, they have not done so. A few Jewish Sects or Cults have gone as far as saying he was a Prophet, but not the Messiah. If they refuse to acknowledge this, does that mean we are not in the time of the end, as Christendom has proclaimed, and that Armageddon is not near? Or, are the references made in Revelations just symbols of something else, as the first sentence says?

I am gay and a christian, I tried to be straight, but I can't stop having sex with men. Could Jesus maybe have interested in men too? Maybe both women and men? I don't know, anyone have an idea?

He told me I was a stupid for listening to people who thought they knew it all. He said HE has specific reasons for steadfast non-belief, and he was very disappointed that I would listen to a bunch of fools who think they understand his purpose. He said Jesus and the bible were just one of his many little "tests", and he was so disappointed that I passed for so long, only to succumb to peer pressure and fail.

In other words, he told me I was right all along to follow MY head because it's always about what works best for each person, and that I shouldn't do what other people tell me to just because they think it's right, or because it's popular.

In the old testament, the Jewish people had to sacrifice pigeons or barnyard animals to God before their sins could be forgiven. How does an innocent unblemished animal dying make up for me stealing something? Wouldn't it be better to return the stolen item, or pay for it and apologize? I've heard the argument that God's perfect justice requires all sins to be punished and that the penalty of sin is death, so death is necessary for the sin to be atoned for. How does the death something else make up for MY particular sin though? I asked this question of Chrisitans because this belief is a central part of Christianity...Jesus, playing the role of the innocent perfect sacrifice, dies to take the punishment for all of our sins once and for all. But how does Jesus' dying allow me to be forgiven? Personally I think this idea of substitutional atonement is akin to the Aztec idea of killing people to appease the sun god. This belief was one of the reasons I decided to not be Christian.

To follow up with the last question I posted at http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=An6Rp_ANNoE_ANhkU1IVAznsy6IX?qid=20061212005536AAXw3sR
I see what you believe, but where in the bible does it talk about all the things you say. Nobody listed any scripture to back up what they are saying. I have read many prophecies about Jesus being the Messiah and they all seem to make sense. I actually have a list if anyone wants to see I will add, but there are too many and I doubt people want to see them. One real question was the point that the messiah must be a descendant of david (which Jesus is, and please don't think i am trying to argue his side), but then you said it must be on the fathers side. Why must it be on the Fathers side? I don't remember God specifying that in the bible. Also, do Jews still sacrifice rams and bulls for their sins? Jewgirl said jews don't believe the world needs "saving," so everyone goes to heaven? What do we need a savior for if not to be saved?

I had one when I got hypothermia. I remember letting my body go for awhile. Then I was floating in the stars, laying flat, like I was on a table. Then there were three beings, adult beings, by me. I do not know if they were angels. I just know they were adults, cause at the time, I was a child. They were making sure I was okay. Like I was at the Doctors or something. But I specifically remember being in the stars. In the sky. Honest real answers please.

so that when you ask a question that is vastly similar to others that have already been asked and resolved, rather than just listing these, the asker MUST review them and either choose a new 'best answer' or rewrite the question so that it is not so dang similar?
