The Tao Te Ching is the original Taoist book written by lao tzu, no other book will give you a better understanding. Taoism cannot be learned, only lived. It seems complicated to grasp at first because you think you have to use the mind to learn about it when really its just accepting it and living it... its very hard to explain in writing because the whole point of Tao is that it cannot be explained.
