and what do you think scares people more into believing?

I will not accept that all non-Christians go to Hell, to me this does not seem like anything close to the realm of what Jesus would teach, and I am sure he will give those a chance to find the truth. I can, however, accept that Jesus was the son of God, and give him power over my life.

The guy is a history nut, and (unfortunately) has read all about the Spanish Inquisition, the control the Vatican had over Europe during the dark ages, ect. He's afraid that if he converts, he'll turn out to be the "manipulative" Christian from those times (ie: torturing people to bring people to Christ.)

I've tried about every approach I could think of, but he isn't budging from this mindset. Any tips, suggestions, ect?

Many times a week, someone asks the age-old question "How can there be morality with no god?"

Almost without fail theses people are christian and are talking about jehovah. Do you think they understand that Jews and muslims ALSO believe in jehovah (by many other names)?

So jews believe in jehovah and they did some major slaughtering in their day. Christians beleive in jehovah and have done some major slaughtering in their day and still do. And Muslims believe in jehovah and have done some major slaughtering.

So where do you REALLY think morality comes from if these 3 religions have such a hard time stopping the violence? Morality is more than non-violence, of course, but it's a good start.
Isn't it obvious that morality comes from our brains?
Some read the bible and come away with "Do no harm", others come away with "do harm only when necessary". Can't you see that we use oour brains to make these distinctions?

Had they not been witnessed to?

THOMAS PAINE: "Of all of the tyrannies that affect mankind, tyranny of religion is the worst."

THOMAS JEFFERSON: "Religions are alike -- founded upon fables and mythologies." and "Christianity is the most perverted system that ever shone on man."

JOHN ADAMS: "I almost shudder at the thought of alluding to the most fatal example of the abuses of grief which the history of mankind has preserved -- the Cross. Consider what calamities that engine of grief has produced!"

JAMES MADISON: "Rulers who wish to subvert the public liberty may have found an established clergy convenient auxiliaries. A just government, instituted to secure and perpetuate it, needs them not."

BEN FRANKLIN: "Lighthouses are more useful than churches."

I mean look at them....
They all look generally the same.....
They have got same names.....
They wear same clothes....
They somewhat eat the same....
They have same mind.....
They all make porns....
They love sinning....

So what is the IDENTITY of a single Christian, or A single Jew or a single Athiest....

Just see Budhists have completely different clothes, Voodoos have completely different style of living, & similarly muslims have just a very different style of living that in a crowd of different religion people, A muslim, a voodoo.. etc.. can be identified very easily...

Why is that in a corwd of Christians, Jews, & Athiests,, no one can say what a particular person belongs to what religion....
SO I ASK WITH DUE RESPECT.....
Why do theses religions have somewhat the same style??
Don't they need to be different from each other so HAVE THEIR OWN "IDENTITY"????

You have almost completed a life/death maze at the end is TWO doors with human shaped heads: one lets you know that you are almost free pick the correct door and freedom the wrong door certain death!
he also tells you that you may ask either of the doors one question, only one, and they would have to answer you. But he then says that the other door always lies - The other door says he tells the truth and that the first one always lies!
My ? what would be the best Question to ask? Explain in depth why this question! and which door would you ask it of? explain how you knew this door would be the one to give honest answer.
thanks for your help.

OK so for religion class Friday were going to talk about different sins (it doesnt matter whether u think abortion is a sin or not to answer). It is a catholic school so were talking about a different sin every Friday in this class. I am supposed to ask ppl this before class and we will talk about how ppl answered us and compare it to the answers other groups got.

So u need to answer 2 questions if ur willing to help me out. Please dont make it into a debate. I just need simple answers about what u think. Like yes or no answers.

1) Do u think abortion is a sin?
and
2) Would u (or have u) ever choose abortion 4 urself? No matter what u think about it being a sin or not.

If u go on and on about what u think i cant use it becasue were not gonna debate it (it is a catholic school anyway) so please just say yes or no or dont answer. Thnx.

Rev 16:12 And the sixth angel poured out his vial upon the great river Euphrates; and the water thereof was dried up, that the way of the kings of the east might be prepared.
Rev 16:13 And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs come out of the mouth of the dragon, and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet.
Rev 16:14 For they are the spirits of devils, working miracles, which go forth unto the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty.

Wow! I am reading a book entitled "The Gnostic Bible" and boy it is saying some things about life, Jesus, God and Creation that I would never have thought of- ever!
A form of Christianity, Gnosticism, swears by secret meanings of life.
Here's an excerpt from the Secret Book of John:
"to the present day fate is harder than what gods, angels, demons, and all the generations have encountered . . . thus all creation has been blinded so that none might know the god that is over them all. Becasue of the bondage of forgetfulness, their sins have been hidden. They have been bound with dimensions, times, and seasons, and fate is master of all."
THIS IS INSANE STUFF!
I tend to love to read religious concepts, but this stuff is blowing my mind away . . .
Oh, and if you swear by your "religious dogma" & want to blur it out, I will not consent to believe it, I am only shedding light on a hidden form Christian teachings (hate labels) but nonetheless, I am not preaching and vice versa.

"All Debts contracted and Engagements entered into, before the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be as valid against the United States under this Constitution, as under the Confederation.

This Constitution, and the Laws of the United States which shall be made in Pursuance thereof; and all Treaties made, or which shall be made, under the Authority of the United States, shall be the supreme Law of the Land; and the Judges in every State shall be bound thereby, any Thing in the Constitution or Laws of any State to the Contrary notwithstanding.

The Senators and Representatives before mentioned, and the Members of the several State Legislatures, and all executive and judicial Officers, both of the United States and of the several States, shall be bound by Oath or Affirmation, to support this Constitution; but no religious Test shall ever be required as a Qualification to any Office or public Trust under the United States."

What was the Biblical inspiration for these rules?

Are there any religions out there that do not claim thet theirs is the "one true religion"? Seems to me like no matter wich religion you follow, wich god you worship (or don't) there is always some one telling you that you have made the wrong choice. That their religion is better because it is the one that is right.

Why do so many believe that the bible is the only word of God when other scriptures have been found? Isn't it possible that God had prophets in other parts of the world at the same time he had them in the middle east?
