I mean look at them....
They all look generally the same.....
They have got same names.....
They wear same clothes....
They somewhat eat the same....
They have same mind.....
They all make porns....
They love sinning....
So what is the IDENTITY of a single Christian, or A single Jew or a single Athiest....
Just see Budhists have completely different clothes, Voodoos have completely different style of living, & similarly muslims have just a very different style of living that in a crowd of different religion people, A muslim, a voodoo.. etc.. can be identified very easily...
Why is that in a corwd of Christians, Jews, & Athiests,, no one can say what a particular person belongs to what religion....
SO I ASK WITH DUE RESPECT.....
Why do theses religions have somewhat the same style??
Don't they need to be different from each other so HAVE THEIR OWN "IDENTITY"????
Plz state ur answer in a sensible manner, if u believe in "free speech" ...

because our religions do not define who we are as people

The way you dress defines the culture that you live in. I practice Vodou but if you look at me from the street you would never know. I live in the US and I dress like people that live in the US. Many muslim men are the same also. The identity for muslim women is the head wrapping. The jewish men wear the little hats. The jewish woman wear the same clothes as everyone else. Many pagans also wear the same clothes as everyone else. Again what you wear show your identification with a culture not a religion.

I can answer you as a Muslim, Allah has not asked us anywhere in our books to IDENTIFY ourselves with our clothes (such as the Borkha, the Hijab, the beards and the cloaks what so ever) or to segregate ourselves from the rest of the community. I have said this before and I am saying it again, Islam was supposed to be believed and loved and practised at a very private level for all muslims all over the world. But because of political events such as 9/11 and so on and so forth, the muslims as well as the christians all over the world have become very conscious to IDENTIFY themselves. This is not to show how great they are as believers, this is rather to show how much they hate each other (which was originally the VERY reason for all of all these religions to have come in this world).
We are already pretty much distressed with these issues so please do not try to bring up these kind if questions on Yahoo Answers anymore.

A Christian's identity is as an individual in Christ. We are called not to wear odd clothes, and go off to some monastery, but to live in the world, being salt, and light. In the world, but not of the world is a famous old saying.
I suspect Jews feel somewhat the same, although some Jews do dress in a particular way.
Atheists, generally have a strong desire to not conform to anyone's system.

Ones identity should not be defines on what one is adorned with-it should be defined on their actions. Many muslims live in america, and yet they do what society does in general, even though they retain their religious beliefs. Many countries that have different religions also do not have the freedoms that america does. It is their laws that require them to wear the attire that they do. Anyway, when u judge a book by its cover, u can miss a wonderful story.

Christians, Jews, and atheists live together in the same society. Muslims are, for the most part, completely separate. Most atheists that you think of are living in "Christian" cultures or what have you.

I believe in free speech.
Identity is what we say to ourselves about ourselves and if often confirmed by others when they talk about us. It's got nothing to do with religion except as part of the adverb and adjective content of the identity.

Christians don't have to wear anything in particular to prove their belief. We are just comfortable with ourselves and our faith. We are just normal people.
