They complain about fundamentalists being aggressive but the Atheist's here merely attack and post ridiculous questions to make a point. I thought that is what put people off religion into Atheism, all the evangelizing.

Would it be inapproriate or disrespectful if I were to give gifts or cards to people who do not celebrate Christmas? I just want to let them know that I'm thinking about them during the holidays or just being polite.

Has someone done something for/to you this week?

What did you do in return?

Sounds pretty ridiculous. Shouldn't you be giving money to the church or someone in need instead of satisfying the greed of all those close to you? And why do you chop down a living tree (that gives much benefit to our eco-system)? How exactly does this have anything to do with the baby Jesus? All retarded, unless you accept you're celebrating Yule instead of Christmas.

Sorry for reporting this, but 80% of the Christians have ADD and didn't read where I corrected the word death to birth before any of them posted.

Is Mao (the communist ruler of China) similar to God? Mao wanted to create a country where everyone was equal. There was no poor or rich (Jesus wanting the rich to give up their money) he believed in health care for all (Jesus healed all people). He killed those who could not help him in his vision (God smites people all the time who disobeyed his will, God even flooded the whole world). Mao wanted to people to not take more than they needed he wanted to elimate currency and no longer have the need of locks on doors. Such as if you went into a store you can take whatever you want and nothing more , there would be no theifs or class of people such as mid class or high class or low(sounds like jerusalem). Mao was anti gay, mao was anti abortion, mao believed marriage to a sacred thing. He believed murder is wrong but killing is okay (similar to god). Mao wanted people to worship him. Only difference is God is all powerful and Mao was not. heh

I am more of a liberal Christian. I do not believe assigning vast generalizations and taking what Christ taught way out of context. In the mannor that I do not see how anyone could get the idea that any non-believer would be sent to Hell, this is not what Christ tought. I do not even know if I believe in a Hell. I do not like how many Christians judge others, this seems to be a trait of the more conservative brances. I believe in doing a life of good, letting my actions speak for me.

I am thinking methodist from what I have studied, but what do you guys think?

The name of the "new age" religion stands out from the conventions that all of you have pointed out days earlier. It is called either "Adida" or "Adidam," depending on your orientation. It is really spelled ADIDA, but there is a book with "Adidam" in it. Thank you for your comments, and pleasee tell any New Age seekers to practice Adida if they wish to be in the real New Age. I know because I had it tested in many apologetics websites and found a neutral response: nothing (malign). Again, thank you.

They've given billions of dollars to charity... helped countless millions of helpless people, made the world a better place, a happier place, brought cultures together, engendered understanding and global unity, and both men have publicly stated that were it not for their atheism, they wouldn't have been able to achieve the great success they did (and consequently emulate the example set by Jesus.)

So we see that these men, in devoting themselves to humanistic (as opposed to theistic) pursuits, by NOT believing in god, were ultimately far more capable of behaving in the manner advocated by Christ, and making the world a better place.

So maybe the answer is a little less proselytizing by Christians, and a little more of studying great atheistic men who understand the TRUE meaning and purpose of life?

Maybe people are afraid of the existence of God being true because that would mean the existence of Satan would be true. Keep in mind, God did not give us a spirit of fear but he gave us a spirit of power

Every time a Xtian is bad or stupid, I hear they were not a "Real" Xtian. Every time one Xtian disagrees with another, they accuse each other of not being real Christians. The "real" ones seem to be in the minority.

4% of Sweden attends church, making it the 3rd least religious country in the world. Yet, Sweden's murder rate is 1.07 per 100,000 people -- among the lowest rates in the world. The US incarceration rate is 730 inmates per 100,000 people, while Sweden's is only 65 inmates per 100,000 people.

If morality stems from religion, how is it that Sweden, famous for is irreligious culture, boasts SUCH a low crime rate, while the notoriously pious United States is embarrassed by such a high crime rate?

Then God sent an evil spirit between Abimelech and the men of Shechem; and the men of Shechem dealt treacherously with Abimelech. Judges 9:23

But the Spirit of the LORD departed from Saul, and an evil spirit from the LORD troubled him. And Saul's servants said unto him, Behold now, an evil spirit from God troubleth thee. Let our lord now command thy servants, which are before thee, to seek out a man, who is a cunning player on an harp: and it shall come to pass, when the evil spirit from God is upon thee, that he shall play with his hand, and thou shalt be well. 1 Samuel 16:14-16

And it came to pass, when the evil spirit from God was upon Saul, that David took an harp, and played with his hand: so Saul was refreshed, and was well, and the evil spirit departed from him. 1 Samuel 16:23
