I personally get tired of every fundamentalist dodging any serious philosophical question by saying that "the bible said so", or that it's God's plan.
My main question has and will always be, how can you trust that the bible (Which there are hundreds of versions of) can possibly be the "true word of God" when it has had a chance to be corrupted by so many people.
Just because it's holy doesn't mean it can't be desecrated. If that were true then churches would never be harmed and I couldn't possibly re-type the bible to say whatever I want it to.
I don't badger people with my philosophical beliefs, all I ask is a serious answer to questions I raise that is more thought out and in depth than " 'cause the bible says so".

Hmm.. far as i know both sides do it. As they say its a two way street. Ever seen a "Christian" treat atheist or agnostics like they are scum for asking questions? For not following an idea so blindly without questions. When you are lost, don't you stop and ask for directions?
Religous people are afraid of questions. They are afraid of those who think differently. And can not accept the fact the bible dosen't hold all the answers.

Preaching isn't what drives people to atheism- rational thought is.
We atheists are all quite convinced that you religious people are delusional. Our mission to insult you is actually a mission of mercy. We want to free you from the clutches of the illusion that is tying you down to the most counter-productive cultural phenomenon of the last 2000 years- christianity.

I respect evryone's right to believe what they believe. I state my opinions, sometimes strongly, but not disrepectfully. If you find disrepect in my posts, it's because of the tone you imagine in it. We all give our own voice to what we read, that's just human nature.
I enjoy the various takes on subjects. Isn't the whole idea of this forum to present different views?

I feel it's Christians who insult non-believers and answer questions that look for real answers with endless quotes from the Bible. But here's a lesson for you, no insults: the word "atheist" should not be capitalized. The word "atheist's" means "belonging to one atheist." You should be ashamed of not knowing your own language.

yeah, why don't we just start a bloody war and get it over with. all of us that are passionate about our beliefs are refusing to submit to the other and all we do is harass eachother, but can you honestly say that you arn't enjoying yourself? i love reading peoples negative comments towards eachother and talking about religion is incredably negative especially when its religion vs. athiesm. we need to learn to defend our beliefs and this is a great place to do it.

Atheists are aggressive because Christians are constantly shoving their self-righteous bull-**** in our faces. They can't keep their religion to themselves. They have to tell everyone that they are going to hell if they don't believe in their God. All they do is make us feel guilty.....and we are just irritated. There is your answer!
