A friend just recommended The Ancestor's Tale: A Pilgrimage to the Dawn of Evolution. It tells about the common ancestors of man and various animals back through the ages and shows where various human traits first appeared. I can't wait to get on that one. I really dig paleontology.

Almost anything by CS Lewis. Even Chronicals of Narnia is filled with symbolisms. I prefer Mere Christianity.

"The Comfortable Pew," by Pierre Berton. It tells about the psychological traits of the clergy, Christian history, and its support of the Nazis. "Escape from Freedom," by Dr. Erich Fromm discusses how weak people like to bind together into a group, such as a religion.
