Is Mao (the communist ruler of China) similar to God? Mao wanted to create a country where everyone was equal. There was no poor or rich (Jesus wanting the rich to give up their money) he believed in health care for all (Jesus healed all people). He killed those who could not help him in his vision (God smites people all the time who disobeyed his will, God even flooded the whole world). Mao wanted to people to not take more than they needed he wanted to elimate currency and no longer have the need of locks on doors. Such as if you went into a store you can take whatever you want and nothing more , there would be no theifs or class of people such as mid class or high class or low(sounds like jerusalem). Mao was anti gay, mao was anti abortion, mao believed marriage to a sacred thing. He believed murder is wrong but killing is okay (similar to god). Mao wanted people to worship him. Only difference is God is all powerful and Mao was not. heh

he believed in self sacrafice for others. He preached to people to be heroic and die for your brothers to put others well being before your own. He wrote his own book on how to be good human beings (the bible). Sure he killed tons of people (but so did God).

Well there are the - dare I mention them - tiny issues of Mao's mortality, fallibility, and corruption.
Which are the flaws in all idealistic societies: greed is in our nature, thus all communistic and socialistic societites fail because someone ends up being corrupted.
A problem Christ doesn't have.
So, would God be a communist? The Father of All is a perfect benevolent King... but He also tolerates dissent (you are, after all, not being stricken right now) and so He would indeed create the perfect Utopic society... even for those who don't believe.
Unlike any communist society on Earth.

The philosophical implications are flawless. The communist principles of altruism are the same as those of religion. The idea is that if everyone placed the others above himself, the world problems would be solved. Unfortunately, need is inexhaustible. As soon as you give something, there are more people who claim their fair shares and sooner or later you have to give all you've got, even your life. The only ones who stand to gain in this philosophy, are the leaders and their close collaborators, the rest of the people are merely enslaved.
But wait, didn't the Soviet Union collapse because of this?
And hasn't China chosen a different version of communism to bring wealth to its people, something similar to capitalism?
And didn't the theocracies of the Middle Ages disappear after a few heads began to roll, so that individual rights were finally established to allow freedom and the pursuit of happiness?

The difference is that a man may have a good intent, but he cannot control all those under him. There will always be those using the system for their own gain. Plus, the leader can only live so long and things change quickly as time passes. Christianity is a good example, began with good intent, only the break down in less than 100 years.

No. Communism is a set of rules and thoughts put together by man. God follows no one's rules save his own. And you may be confusing Jesus with his father. Jesus taught what he felt his father wanted and what he thought his father felt. But it was all from a terrestrial view point. God is the only one that really knows what God thinks and wants. So trying to compare Mao to God is ridiculous. And I think that God knows Communism will not work. Communism breads slovenly ways. If you get what you need for nothing, why work for it? If you do a mediocre job and will not get fired, or advanced, why put out the extra effort? People are just to self centered to allow Communism to work. People need some incentive to succeed.

Don't confuse communism (or more properly socialism) with a largely benevolent monarchy. Make no mistake, God doesn't believe for a second that all people are equal. They are certainly not treated as equal, nor do they recieve equal fates. Where socialism would encourage you to live your life to help out humanity as a whole, God says to do whatever He says, even if it leads to your own destruction. Worlds apart. Stand closer to your Bible, and you'll see.

Possibly
That's, at least, how the average "born again" commune works.
Jesus, however, wasn't absolute. He told some disciples to leave their possesions with their families.
He told others to sell all they had and buy a sword.
Neither of those statements are Communistic!

Your logic is very flawed. You are trying to compare an alleged supreme being (God)with a human being (Mao).

No because Communism constantly changes to whatever suits the leaders. God on the other hand is unchanging. He isn't tied to time and space he is beyond time and space because he created it.
