They've given billions of dollars to charity... helped countless millions of helpless people, made the world a better place, a happier place, brought cultures together, engendered understanding and global unity, and both men have publicly stated that were it not for their atheism, they wouldn't have been able to achieve the great success they did (and consequently emulate the example set by Jesus.)

So we see that these men, in devoting themselves to humanistic (as opposed to theistic) pursuits, by NOT believing in god, were ultimately far more capable of behaving in the manner advocated by Christ, and making the world a better place.

So maybe the answer is a little less proselytizing by Christians, and a little more of studying great atheistic men who understand the TRUE meaning and purpose of life?

I don't believe that what they've done makes them any better than anyone else who gives to those in need. Yea they give away billions because they're multibillionaires, what should we expect. There are people who make a lot less who actually make huge sacrifices to help those in need. Not saying that what these men have done isn't wonderful and helping a lot of people, but they aren't the only ones giving back to society. Also what does them being an atheist have to do with them being charitable. Does atheism now mean those who don't believe in God and give to the poor. A couple of billionaires give to the poor so now that means that they have everything figured out and I must study them? Right

Not to discredit anything and only God knows intentions. But a lot of their charty work has been investment or PR related. We discussed this a while back in our business school. So think deeper than the surface, always. The world would be a better place.

Unfortunately, good works done without God in mind don't count for much.

And since both men are advocates for abortion and birth control, they will have a lot of expaining to do, as those are two particular areas that God reserves to himself.

Even 80 billion dollars doesn't impress God. Nor does giving away large sums of money to avoid taxes, and to provide charitable foundations for your relatives to run.

"And He (Jesus)looked up and saw the rich putting their gifts into the treasury. And He saw a poor widow putting in two small copper coins. And He said "Truly I say to you, this poor widow put in more than all of them; for they all out of their surplus put into the offering; but she out of her poverty put in all she had to live on" (Luke 21:1-3)

"Now the Pharisees who were lovers of money were listening to all these things, and they were scoffing at Him. And He said to them, "You are those who justify yourselves in the sight of men, but God knows your hearts; for that which is highly esteemed among men is detestable in the sight of God (Luke 16:14,15)

God made all humans in Gods image and as such one would expect them to be good regardless to what they believed
