Religion & Spirituality - 13 December 2006

I am a fairly new Christian and there has been a great transformation in my life. I have a friend who has been asking about salvation, and I want to go about it the wrong way.I don't want to force her. I invited her to church and she has come a few times and she wants to know about it. What is some good scripture in the bibile to share with her? Thank you.

I believe in God or a God. I am a good person, I pray to God for help when I need it, I praise God for the help he gives me. Ihelp out those who need a helping hand maybe not so much financely but emotional wise I do. I do things in my life that I believe he would condone. But I don't attend church or read the bible. So am I wrong because I chose to honor God in this way instead of the church way.

It's like saying there is a round square. A square cannot be round. The pure essence of love cannot have hate.
God is a being of pure love, but he also smites and often appears very angry in the bible.

If a person physically came into your life, and was exiled, but promised they would return one day, you could have faith that that person would return.

If you have a physical relationship with someone, you can have faith that that person will not do you wrong.

When you believe in an idol because your parents passed it down on to you, out of fear, or any of the other reasons people choose organized religions, that is BLIND-FAITH.

There are many stubborn people who will not realize this, but those people can not be helped. As for the majority of us, this is common sense. So, what is the point of all this you may ask?

How can you consider the structures of a religion moral if they preach sending all non-followers of that religion to hell. Now, not all religions are like this of course, but this kind of attitude, even possessed by a single person is a detriment to the world.

I will probably not get a lot of thought out posts, just more hatred, but that goes to the thesis.

Isn't it amazing how these evolutionist tell us to not open our Bible, don't go there for answers. They want to cut off the very source of truth. Everytime I ask a question to stir thinking about evolution vs creation, they tell us to keep the Bible out of it.

What is wrong with these people, do they really think we will cut off communication from the only reliable source of truth just to please them? Your thoughts, tell us what your experience has been with these so called evolutionist?

Many theists when giving "proof" of god say to me..."well you exist because of god".....this is ludacrious to me. I am only proof that female humans exist. My daughter, while beautiful and amazing is simply proof that I, like other animals can procreate.

So the question is this....how are any of us proof of god's existence? and why does there have to be an explanation and reason for everything?
