I'm not mean and nasty. Well, I am, but I'm trying to learn not to be.

It's all about love here. Doesn't matter if you're Christian, Atheist, or otherwise.

I'm sorry the bad Atheists jumped you. I think you should avoid joining the bad Christians. :)

This 'question' almost sounds like troll baiting.

You will find in your life, if you haven't realised already, that there is a difference between "Belief" and "Truth". At one point in human history, people 'believed' that the Earth was flat and that the Earth was the centre of the Universe - and we know how those turned out.

I'm sorry that the "Atheists" were mean to you, but that is another fundamental truth in life. Different people believe different things, and some of them won't tolerate for being insulted about their beliefs.

For the record, some people are athiests, some people support the theory of evolution (so called 'evolutionists'), and some people are both. It is disrespectful to blame the whole lot for the actions of just a few.

I just read your other question, and, beside the catty comments from both camps (Christians and Atheists), the answers given seem quite well written and thought out. I'm not so certain yuor crusade is working. Oh well...

Correction - only SOME atheists call themselves open minded, if you hadn't noticed. Others just try to force Science down anyone's throat - and yes, some atheists are in fact narrow minded. The state of your mind has absolutely nothing to do with your religion or non-religion. So not all atheists are open minded and not all christians or people of other beliefs are narrow minded. So for the record; open minded is not a synonym for atheist, so they are not obliged to be open minded. **edit** Just like you're not obliged to be narrow minded, so stop being it.

No, honey, you were calling your BELIEF the truth, did you expect people to just stand by and let you have the last word? Or, were you fishing for mean spirited, narrow minded answers? You know you are going to get answers that you don't agree with, or that sometimes might even piss you off, so why bother? If you can't handle the answers, don't post the question.

You should go to church if you want to limit the kind of bigot that is permitted to respond.
Here, narrow minded bigots of all kinds are permitted (to some extent) to join the conversation.
By your addressing an issue that is way over your head, you offend those of the scientific faith.
When an anti-scientist attacks the scientific epistemology or the community of science or their faith, it is stupid of you to expect that they would not defend their faith any more than you defend your own.
Besides, you know that you really love all that science has done for you and we who hold stock in weapons manufacturing companies really love religion for making us rich. Can't we all just get along?

Oh, the irony. Do you know what you have just done for the christian image by representing an entire group and saying that creation is the truth? I think the narrow-mindedness applies to you too.

Frankly, Frank, God is disgusted by the fact that you lump one group of people into such a negative category. Since when is it just atheists? I've seen mean-spiritedness in every religion, every race, every walk of life, and definitely in this question. It is as we continue to separate ourselves into narrow-minded groups and ask questions meant to incite others that we grow further and further apart. Leave the judging to your God and try to live your life in peace.

I have not yet begun to get nasty. You are pushing your beliefs onto ppl by making sweeping generalizations, twisting other's words, stating that your truth is the only truth and now we can add in judgmentalism. What do you expect?

Creationism is a BELIEF....it requires faith....is is NOT truth.

Keep making those assumptions about people, you are on a roll!!!! Do you not realize that by reading the thoughts of a few in a group, and then labeling an entire group based on those few, you open yourself to being called a bigot?
