I beleive that God is real. The bible is not only a couple thousand years old, but it has been changed and censored so many times it by no means resembles the original as it was intended anyway, so at this point no system of belief should be based on it. I do not believe in the organization of religion, because it promotes discrimination, and most religions are based on teachings that make people fear God (like the whole "hell" idea), which in my opinion only pushes them further from Him-so it kinda defeats the purpose. Besides-who's to say who is right? WHen did God put anyone in charge? And if he did, why didn't he tell ALL of us? What is everyone else, a waste of skin? I think the important thing is that you believe, and that you try to be a good person.

Sweetie if you ever want to make it to Heaven you have to do more than only think God is a possibility. You have to truly believe and be saved, born again and know with all your heart that it is true.
The telephone game kind of reminds me of the good songs of the 70's and early 80's, and someone of this decade comes along and re-does them and they don't even sound the same. Well,The Bible is not like that. You can even get ahold of a very old one and it will say the same as the new ones today.
Forget evolution! Kent Hovind proved that theory.

Many schools teach evolution and even believe that man evolved from apes. If this is true, then why do apes still exist? Are they the unfortunate ones that did not get to turn into humans? Questions can go on and on, but take a look at that website. It answers some really good questions.
Again, no one made up a story. Humans are made too perfect with everything so unique. There is no way science or evolution can take credit for the work I know God did.

The question of whether or not God is real is one that has existed since the beginnig of recorded history. I think that as human beings a majority of us need to believe that there is something greater than oursleves that can control what happens. Let's face it one of the things that scares people the most is the unknown. I believe that one of the reasons science and religion are constantly at odds with one another is that both claim they can provide answers to the bigger questions of life.
Reguardless of the name of the deity people prefer the idea that they were created by an entity that is greater than themselves both in power and intellegence. I think the reason for this is the implications of being created by supreme intellegence implies that the creation has a meaning and purpose. The idea that the universe came about through a happy accident of the right molecules getting together in the right time and place implies that all of this and all of us maybe meaningless and that does not sit very well with the human ego.
I don't think that the stories that are related by any religion are just randomly made up. If the events happened as they are descibed today, or if they have been blown out of portion, or potentially even given a meaning after the fact that they never really had, I don't know and know one who was there is alive to ask questions of. However religion in and of itself has great value to society. Religion has always given a set of rules and consequences (either immeidate or delayed) if the rules are broken. Religion has always conveyed the moral teachings through stories becuase they are easier to remember reguardless of your educational level and they can be easily taught to the youngest of children becuase the example are so visual and concrete in nature.
Does God Exisist That I can neither definatively prove or disprove, but I believe that is why it is called faith.
Now for What I can prove and may become self evident by the time this post actually goes up considering how slow I type and the lenght of this post. When you question the existance of God or the validaty of the Bible in front of Christians you will get responses that will seem either condescending or like they are about to start foaming at the mouth.
Before I even look at all the posts from the Christian community that will inevitably preceed mine, let me thank you all for being so predictable.

The same thing that happens to a message when you play telephone does happen with the spreading of God's word. That is evident in the many different denominations of Christians that have evolved. I am pretty well versed in the science of evolution and do not deny it's existence (at least on a micro-scale). However, the theory of macro evolution is not provable and requires just as much faith as believing in God. There is no way that anyone can prove God's existence to you my friend. It is something you have to take on faith. I know that God is real because of what He has personally revealed to me through His Spirit. That sounds fruity to some people, but that's okay with me. You can be skeptical about another's beliefs, but too many people take it too far and tell them that they are stupid, etc. I pray that you will be blessed on your search for the Truth!

Yes, God is Real, because of the Bible and all the life around us. If you think that the Bible is just a book and not God's Word, then check this out:
Oh, yeah, did you know that if you can give at least one scientific proof of evolution then you will get a reward of $250,000
Evolution is a religion without any proof!
- Students in tax-supported public schools are being taught that evolution is a fact, but it's not. Evolution theory has nothing to do with the subject of science. There are at least six different and unrelated meanings to the word "evolution". Students are deceived into thinking that all six types of evolution below have been proven because evidence is given for minor variations called Micro-evolution. Here are the different kinds of evolutions:
1.- Chemical evolution - the origin of higher elements from hydrogen.
2.- Cosmic evolution - the origin of time, space, and matter. Big Bang.
3.- Stellar and planetary evolution - origin of stars and planets.
4.- Organic evolution - origin of life from inanimate matter.
5.- Macro-evolution - origin of major kinds.
6.- Micro-evolution - variations within kinds. Only this one has been observed.
The first five meanings are believed by faith and are religious because there is not a single proof for them. Only the last one is scientific and it has nothing to do with the first five.

Obviously you missed the point. The only source about God is revelation. We know nothing except what has been reveal. If we are talking about the [Christian] bible, we are talking about the words the prophets.
We either believe them or we don't. No debate, just simple belief.
In your detail, you ask for a proof of God. We have two belief systems: revelation and science. Or simply, God reveals and man observes.
The existence of God by observation can not be done. Why? Because according to reveal knowledge, God existed before He created everything we can observe. In other words, God exist in and out of our observable universe. This means there are no scientific theory about God since such a theory would explains facts about God, but there are no facts about God. Just a reminder, facts are observations by men [note plural] independent of location. So science doesn't get us there.
What about revealed knowledge. Surely there is a proof of God there. Sadly to say, there isn't. The existence of God is assumed in the bible.
Which brings us back to belief. What you believe is yours. If you believe in the revelation, we can talk about the revelation says and what it doesn't say.

I've said it before, I have to say it again. Those who believe in God, have faith that he is there! Faith cannot be proven or disproven by any man. Only God can prove that God exists. If you pray to him with true intent, with a broken heart (humility) and a contrite spirit (in faith) with a true desire to know of him and all about him. He will answer you. He will not answer one who is just trying to satisfy his random curiosity. But if you have real intent to know him and what he really is all about, You will receive an answer louder than words but yet so quiet only your heart can hear. Your entire body will quake knowing that the Father of your spirit has just spoken to your soul. Only God can prove that God exists. And he has no interest in thrill seekers or parlor tricks to prove or disprove he's there. He has much more important things to do. He created the world and every thing in it. Who do you think keeps track of whether that creation is fulfilling the reason for it's existence and makes sure every thing on it is doing it's appointed job!

Sorry, but none of us can prove or disprove God's existence. The nature of God is such that he doesn't have to impact on anything in an observable or measurable way, so you can't prove he's not there. And if there were someone who could prove he does exist, they'd probably be far too clever to give it away for free, when they could probably make billions of dollars writing a book.

I am a Christan and to answer your question we could be here for a long time. To give you one simple equation: If you believe in the Lord and his teachings you will be a better person and if you lead your life in the way it is told in the Bible and when you die you relize there is not a God you will have lost nothing. But if you die not believing in Christ and you find out then you were wrong you will be in for some pretty harsh times to say the least.
