having done a little research into islam, why is it that, although the holy books give women equal rights, and leave it for women to decide on veiling etc, the men have insisted that women wear veils, women walk behind them, women can't go into mosques etc... ie. why are women treated in such a derogatory manner, when the scripture says that women shouldn't be treated in this way? please give scripture references to support your arguements.
please don't answer that this never happens, i've seen the attitude in action... women, in some muslim countries, are treated like 5hit on the sole of mens shoes.... i just want to know why, and what the justification is.

Is this concept related to the creation of the world and/or the creation of man and if so, please explain.

I don't want explanations of the loneliness of man.

People from all religious backgrounds are welcome to participate. I would be especially happy to hear from Members of the Tribe (Jews).

Thanks to everyone who helps me with this question.

I am Muslim, I believe in one God in one person, I do what God commanded me to do, I worship him only. Nobody is saved, if I knew that I am saved, I would take it easy do nothing like Christians do. but I can't gamble with eternal fire.
I don't think that people from the time of Noah until Muhammad took it easy, I know from the Quran that they worked hard to plase God, and many suffered, even prophets. but things changed with Christians who do no more work and are (claimed) saved. so Why is the Holy spirit for if you are already saved?

God never killed anyone. We human beings think that God exercises his wrath the same way we human beings, certainly not.
Isaiah 55:9
For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts
So His ways of exercising His wrath is different from ours.
Isaiah 54:8
8In a little wrath I hid my face from thee for a moment; but with everlasting kindness will I have mercy on thee, saith the LORD thy Redeemer.
God does not like sin, He loves the sinner but not the act. He hates sin so much he cannot stand to look at it , so in a little wrath He hides his face from you when you sin, meaning He gives you up to what you have chosen. God does not force, that is Satan's government of sin. He forces people not God.
Romans 1:24
24Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:
He gives them up to their own choices and it is a separation.

This little boy has Cancer. God knows who he is. You can refer to him as Noah in your prayers. Doctors are not giving him much of a chance to survive. Please pray for a Miracle.

i know i do. There are so many arguements against it, but at the same time, it would be impossible to prove it wrong. I am NOT against christianity but am also not for it. I sometimes wonder why people try to force their religion on me. i was just wondering if anyone here ever really sits down and thinks about it. thanks.

I'm looking into becoming a vicar, but to do that I need to know my exact religion. I believe the bible is absolute fact, and shouldn't be altered or reinterpreted, therefore I know I'm not Catholic. I believe in heaven, and hell, and god, and anything else mentioned in the bible. But can anyone tell me what exact religion I am?

Also...does anyone know how one goes about "applying" to become a vicar? It's something I've always had a desire to be, but have never know my faith or how you begin becoming a vicar.

Many thanks to anyone who answers!

What can we do as people, regardless of our religion, to heal the rift between people of different faiths? There is so much hate in the world today, alot of it seems to come from misunderstanding the religious beliefs of others. What are your ideas for helping to end the hatred between our human brothers and sisters? Please note: the answer "convert to my religion" is not acceptable.
