Sin is Sin in God's Eyes. Society is what puts levels on sin. We all sin. It really does not matter what we do, what matters is that it is Sin and it is going against our God. I believe that the reason "Pride" is referred by many as the greatist sin is because Satan's Pride is what brought him to go against God. He wanted what God had but we all know that he did not get it. There is only one God and always will be. I don't know of anywhere in the Bible that speaks of "Pride being the Greatist Sin" I have read of the Blasphemy of the Holy Spirit, being the unforgivable sin, and I have to admit, this verse still confuses me. Something for me to do more research on, Thanks.

Who says Pride is the greatest sin? I've never heard that, and I don't believe that it is. The greatest sin is rejection of the Holy Spirit.

Pride is a sin but not the greatest,we put too much faith in ourselves and not enough in Gods direction. If we are humble God will hear us and direct us when we ask for help.

It may be because pride is just another way of the ego. The ego constrict us from growing and moving forward, whether we need to say sorry to someone or admit a mistake we have made. Our true self, which is love, whispers to us to do the loving ways while our pride or ego tells us that if we do then we have proven that we fault and imperfect and comes out as the weak one. Only when its too late do we dwell in regret.

ooooooooooooohhhhh! GOOD Q! yay...

Im so excited to answer this!

Sin of pride is considered great because
1) It is the original sin. Meaning, this is the sin that Beelzebub, Satan, the devil....used. As he said he would sit upon the Throne of GOD ALMIGHTY, and he "pridefully" claimed to be "as" GOD.
(THERE IS NONE LIKE YAHWEH!>>HE ALONE IS GOD!)

and

2) PRIDE comes before the FALL> meaning that GOD; in the summation of all of HIS awesome attributes; pride is among the most abominable to HIM. GOD; HIS nature and His attributes are so far removed from "prideful". HE resists the PROUD and gives grace to the humble. HE is humble.

Sin or not, pride is a dangerous weapon; pride is selfishness' brother, when exaggerated can turn into revenge, hatred and grudges. Every ego's exaggeration is dangerous. People should find a balance between their ego and the respect owed to other people. Peace.

The greatest sin is the only one that won't be forgiven - blashpheomy of the Holy Spirit. All other sins are equal to eachother, in that anyone one of them makes you worthy of hell.

There isn't exactly a "greateast sin". All sins are sins, and a sin is something that makes God sad. Any sin shows rejection and drawing apart from God, and this is greatly bad to God. This means that all sins are greatly bad to God.

God bless, this is what I believe ^^.

i do not comprehend any as against preserving 'pride' is the worst sin. there's a boasting contained in the Lord it truly is proper and pride it truly isn't any longer good and makes doubtlessly depraved human beings. i imagine it truly is sweet to be comfortable with your accomplishments and exertions.
