i know i do. There are so many arguements against it, but at the same time, it would be impossible to prove it wrong. I am NOT against christianity but am also not for it. I sometimes wonder why people try to force their religion on me. i was just wondering if anyone here ever really sits down and thinks about it. thanks.

me and some friends sat down and came up with a theory of our own. we seem to think that religion in general acts as a safety net for everyone and without it, there would be total anarchy.

fyi, i didn't need a bunch of B.S. answers from people that think that christianity is the only way. I just wanted to know if people that believe in christianity, or have believed, ever questioned it. Alot of the answers are great, but a few are just a bunch of christians trying to force their religion on me. if u arent gonna TRY to answer the question, don't answer.

i do not have much money, and sometimes i feel as though i want to kill myself, so i feel that i need something to believe in; i.e., a god. but i dont want to believe something that is full of contradictions. That isnt believing, that is hoping.

when people want to talk to you about their beliefs, they are doing it out of love, I think. sure, maybe its misguided and ill-timed and maybe even abrasive, but if you can look past that and know that they really care--and this is really important to them... its easier to forgive.
like if someone came along and wanted to talk to you about breathing. how to do it, how many breaths--they want to convince you that THEIR way is best.
and you just want to say "hey, I got it man! I can figure this out on my own--just let me be!"
but they mean it in the best way, you know? :-)
anyway, cheers!
here's to christmas holding back anarchy! (although you would think those store employees listening to endless carols would go nuts!)

What are you talking about? Of course people do. Everywhere. Read any of the threads on here. Take a look around you at all the Atheists. It causes wars.
And they try to force their religion on you because they think they're right and that everyone should live by their morals whether anyone else wants to or not.
Its one of the reasons why so many people are starting to have a problem with Christianity. They can't seem to learn to keep their religion to themselves.

As Karl Marx said about one century ago, religion is the opium of the masses, and this dictum to me has not changed much over the years. Generally, poor people are addicted to religion, under the false belief that some god somewhere is watching over them and will solve all their problems for them. Moderate religion can be a force for progress, while extreme or fanatical religion of any type is definitely destructive.

No one can force Christianity on you. The problem is that salvation is a free gift, how can you force a free gift on someone. Some may be strong in their faith or trying to get you to understand it.
I would have you accept Jesus as Lord and Savior so that you would have fellowship with and not be separated from God for eternity, but I can't force you to listen. It would not be Christ like to not try to tell others about a way to truth, a way to life.
I hope you and your friends come to the knowledge that Christianity is real and the only way to understand truth is through a life in Christ. I hope this because Jesus died for you and for me and he has this same hope.
You have the choice.
God Bless

It's definitely possible to prove some Christian points wrong;)...Studying ancient scrolls, (as well as the Bible too of course) can lead you to astounding conclusions, trust me;)...However the point is not if it's right or wrong to be Christian, since everyone has the right to believe whatever they want; the problem arises when some Christians want to impose their religion as the absolute Truth to other people. That's sooooooooooooo wrong!...Tolerance is the key to solve all problems. The ones who NEED to believe in God and need NO evidence to support their Faith, should enjoy their religion live, and let live those who don't share their same views; as well as athiests (I'm one of them) should keep on looking for evidences , live and let live belivers;). Nobody should force nobody to change their views.
About religion being a net....I believe that nobody should be questioned about his/her choice to believe or not believe in God. Everyone's choice should be simply respected, no need to justify it. peace.

the bible says that God has set eternity in the hearts of men. You can go to the most isolated tribe on Earth and you will find religion. Religious people in the Earth far out way the non religious. God has set it there so people will search for Him. Search for Me and you shall find me He said. But in the end it is not a religion that will save you but only a relationship with God. God bless.

The world "religion" only spell out the division of people. There is only ONE God no matter what you call him. Pick up a little from each belief system and create your own way of thinking. That is when you'll truly begin to overstand a higher power. What people fail to realize is we all came from ONE place-ONE continent that happen to be split_ Classification such as race, color and religion only degrade people.

I don't know your background or how you cope with things but I am a christian and I have questioned God before. When things got the roughest I would say God why is it always me..kind of pity party for myself you know....and he'd say why not you? And now looking back I can see why things happened the way that they did. I was a very selfish person only thinking of myself,so he took away things I thought were important..materialistic things. In doing so it made me start thinking of others instead of myself.

Only non-Christians.
Seems to me like you are doing the forcing. You are trying to force what you belief on us.
Now, when a person becomes a Christian, he is a Christian all the way. Not a part time Christian.I do not force my beliefs on anybody. If I was questioning my Christianity then I am not a Christian. That is why I said only non-Christians.
