I'm looking into becoming a vicar, but to do that I need to know my exact religion. I believe the bible is absolute fact, and shouldn't be altered or reinterpreted, therefore I know I'm not Catholic. I believe in heaven, and hell, and god, and anything else mentioned in the bible. But can anyone tell me what exact religion I am?

Also...does anyone know how one goes about "applying" to become a vicar? It's something I've always had a desire to be, but have never know my faith or how you begin becoming a vicar.

Many thanks to anyone who answers!

Well, im afraid i don't know what a vicar is. From what youve said you are a Protestant Christian. To go deeper than that I'm afraid your going to have to search yourself. All churches say that they follow the bible, and yet they all differ on the smallest notes. I have yet to find one that i agree with all the way, in doctrine and practice that is.

Forget religion. Instead develop a relationship with God through His Son Jesus. Let God be your loving Father, and you be His loving child. Relationship, not religion.

You don't have to be of any founded religion. Its good to reference the bible, but if you want guidence believe in Christ. Jesus delivered the Truth of God through verbal means and one of his messages was, "Those who accept me, by whatever name, are dear to me and mine." Also the Avatar, Krishna, in the East, was quoted as saying this long before Christ was born.

Remember that Jesus didn't not write the words of the New Testimate. His Enlightened diciples documented his teachings. Centuries later, at the Council of Nicaea, approximately 325 A.D.,Constintine, ruler of the Roman Empire called upon theologians and other religious athorities (who were not Enlightened) to gathered and decided on an official Doctrine for Christianity, since none was established. Then and there they all agreed on what books were to be included and which to excluded. A great many books were not considered like the Book of Epoch, the Gospel of Thomas, the Gospel of Phillip, and yes even the Gospel of Mary.

Constintine personally ask a very trusted athority, Eusebius, to include books he thought were suitable, some written by Eusebius himself, for the New Testiment. Many of Eusebius books, which were accepted by many, were not included. Some of the books in todays New Testiment are not accurate with Eusbius writtings.

From all of this one may see how the minds of those who were not in direct contact with Christ and were unenlightened, may have not entirely understood Jesus' words. The teachings of Christ wre not accurately represented fully in the bible

Also later in history, there was the Crusadeds, then the Spaniards hosted the Inquistion that killed million in the name of Christianity established by the bible. What do these religious zealotries have to do with Christ teachings of salvation, compassion, cherity and Unconditional love? The bible is great. But please be wise to recognize its limitations as well as its wonderful capabilities.

Jesus said that Heaven and Hell are one-tenth of an inch apart, and that, "the Kingdom of Heaven is within you." This may imply for one to seek Truth and Heaven within oneself. If you seek Truth from with-out it is likely to experiene Hell, look at all the so-called "suffering" on the planet (i.e., the travesties of earthly attachment). One-tenth of an inch is the human flesh.

God is from which everything exist, wheather life persists in it or not. People of Faith should value that. There is no separation from Creater and the Created. The Buddha, Krishna, Zoroaster, and Christ, all of whom relized this and tought this. Languaging, culture, time and geograhic location is the only difference. Read into to them and you will find the same to be true. Amazingly the East accept and acknowledge Christ, but regretfully the West does not accept their Great teachers. All of them are for us. Because God gave them to us, they gave themselves. Choose one or all, the result will be the same. They will tell you to look Within.
