This is really a question for the Catholics out there, but it can be for anyone. I've been reading up on Liberation Theology, and I really like it.

Pope John Paul II and his student of sorts, Benedict XVI both disliked Liberation Theology and are outspoken about their opinions, mostly because Gustavo Gutierez condones armed resistance to oppression, guided by the church.

What do you think of Liberation Theology? Do you think that the primary goal of the church should be essential social change and equality? Is the message of the Bible supposed to be interpreted as one of social justice above all else? Should the church be active in bringing about revolution, peaceful or otherwise? Are the two most recent Popes correct in putting it down somewhat?

Personall, the more I read, the more I like it, and am working it into my personal faith. What about you?

Tom Brokaw is respected in journalism and he has spent many years covering the Middle East. Americans believe a lot of what he says. His interview at Fordam Univ. was broadcast to this nation. He says that peace in that region is improbable because of Islamic extremist and that terrorism in America will increase. Please give me your opinion.

So I answer the door, and a woman with a Bible asks if I've found Jesus. Seriously Chirstians, why can't you keep track of him? I don't know here he is. He's not behind the couch, that's for sure... I get dragged to his house by my parents. Funny, its his house, but he's never there! Just some guy in a suit telling me what to do with my life and what my values should be.
The way Christians act, its no wonder that Jesus keeps getting lost and you have your nation wide manhunt to find him again. Maybe if you weren't such hateful biggots, he'd let you find him instead of you asking everyone if they found him.
I told the lady I did not find Jesus, and when she started giving me a hell fire and brimstone sermon, I closed the door. It was then that I heard the voice of Jesus himself, speaking to my heart. He said "Is she gone?"

It seems to have the same characteristics...

-Popular -- Yes, Christianity has over 1 billion followers now, very popular
-Manipulative -- Yes, they force people to believe what they want using fear (of Hell)
-Fear-Inducing -- Hell. Need I say more?
-Condemning -- Everyone NOT Christian is damned for eternity
-Conformity -- Christians used to support slavery, but changed when it was abolished.
-Financial Involvement -- Tithing anyone?
-Love-Bombing -- "Jesus Loves You"
-Critical thinking discouraged -- Creationism anyone?
-Indoctrination -- Most of them believe the Bible is true, simply because it says it is.
-Demands Total Committment and unquestioning submission
-Value rejection: encouraged to denounce values and beliefs of former life. -- If not, then why are you born-again?
-Threats about leaving and consequences -- Hell again

Looks like there are a lot of Christians out there with very specific ideas of what happens when you die. Have read answers about purgatory and even one about a 'debriefing room' (which, honestly, I will probably giggle to myself about for days, interesting..but wow..). Are you even a little fearful of dying? Does it ever cross your mind that when you die, that'll be it, life over - like the bug that hits the windshield? Atheists, what about you?

There are times I just dont like going to church. And IF I went by my feelings I would hardly ever go. When I was a new bleiver I loved church I was the first to arrive and the last to leave it was new, fresh and exciting, however the church I am in now is limited in certain ways and being in this ministry for 13 years has been very hard. I am relocating soon and did find a better church where my husband and I will be living. What are good godely ways to get the joy, zeal, enthuisiam, fire and passion back for going to church once again? Thank you for your answers and God bless you.

I think it did. That is the purpose of the different races. Different people adapted to different climates, humidities, terrains, and diets. This caused natural selection to occur and the people with traits desirable to that area became more and more common.
God did not make us to "mix". If he did he would not have taken this long evolutional process of nature to make us all different. How is this any different from mating lions and tigers? If All lions and Tigers mated there would be no more lions and tigers.

ok so basically the Koran says not to eat pork because the Islam started in the middle east and there is hot and the pork meat would get you sick. Now, shouldn`t this be a more cultural issue than a religious one? i mean in today`s world even the muslims that live in north don`t eat pork so why is that? the prophet said not to eat pork because of the climate not because something else, so why do muslims keep refusin to eat pork?
p.s. i`m just damn curious..

I am a Christian but at the moment I feel very angry with people who kill little babies and they say they didn't mean to do it. Why do people do that, a baby cannot defend theirselves even children can't. This couple I know murdered their baby and was jailed for 5 years. I can't pray for them because they took a life of an innocent child. What should I do and what would you do?

The baby was my nephew!
