This goes along the lines of the argument about whether or not Allah is the same as the Christian God. According to the Islamic religion, It is, but according to many Christians it is claimed that Islam arose from Pagan sun and moon worship (as per the moon and star symbol of Islam).

It doesn't matter. If you think its OK then it is. I chant a Buddhist chant sometimes.sometimes other chants its whats in your heart that matters.that symbol seems OK to me. I believe I have heard its old Christian. some adopted it for a while in the long ago past
