I am really interested for those who say that they used to be atheists and turned into believers. My question is what did make you change your mind the most:

- You became a Deist* as it seemed possible somehow (May be God was there in the Big Band, and then everything worked on its own as science explains it!)
- Agnosticism sounded like a good decision until further notice from God.
- Found Jesus (in the closet or somewhere else! and became a Christian).
- Fear of Hell ( Became a Mormon! or converted to the religion with a high probability of being true!).
- Creationism made more sense than evolution so God sounded like a better bet.
- You became a Unitarian Universalism (I mean religions may look stupid but most of them share the same universe truth)
- I Had to!
- Other reason

Note: Pastafarians, Jedi, and all followers of parody religions will be considered still Atheist!

*Deist: The belief, based solely on reason, in a God who created the universe and then abandoned it, assumin

In the name of God, the Gracious, the Merciful

Thou shalt certainly find the Jews and those who associate partners with Allah to be the most vehement of men in enmity against the believers. And thou shalt assuredly find those who say, 'We are Christians,' to be the nearest of them in friendship to the believers. That is because among them are savants and monks and because they are not arrogant.

Surely those who believed, and the Jews, and the Sabians, and the Christians - whoso believes in God and the Last Day and does good deeds, on them shall come no fear, nor shall they grieve

And the Jews say, 'Ezra is the son of God,' and the Christians say, 'the Messiah is the son of God;' that is what they say with their mouths. They only imitate the saying of those who disbelieved before them. God's curse be on them! How they are turned away

As to those who believe, and the Jews and the Sabians, and the Christians, and the Magians and the idolaters; verily, Allah will judge between them on the Day of Resurrection. Surely, Allah watches over all things.

In the interest of disclosure, I'm an atheist. I don't believe in heaven or hell.

But if I did believe that Jesus was the literal son of god and saw how he lived his life as written in the bible, I would spend my entire life tirelessly emulating him. I mean if you think that this whole life is a "test" to see if you deserve ETERNAL life with god, why would you waste time buying a fancy car? Going to fancy restaurants? Pushing for a certain president? Working overtime? Jesus didn't do any of those things (okay he had some wine now and then). And he specifically said to care for the lowest among us. I would be terrified of hell and doing everything in my power to avoid it. Why aren't more christians more motivated to be like that? Do they really think it's enough to do a few little things now and then while focusing on earthly comforts? And I don't mean every single xian, I mean the majority.

I never really knew what that meant. Does anyone have any suggestions as to the meaning?
Trance medium, I know it sounds strange; it was my 'past life, astral projection and Be Here Now phase' in the early 1990's.

I was just wondering how many people think seven days in the Bible means the days as we know them? I think it's difficult to tell what the Bible means when talking about length of time.

I heard a debate about whether there's such thing as "christian rock." Some one got up and quoted a verse saying something like "bang the drums, blow the trumpets," or what ever.
Then, the other side of the argument was a bunch of people saying "oh I hate rock music, the hyms are sooooo much more pleasant."
So, to the christian rock haters, is your opinion basically "I don't like it so I know GOD wouldn't like it?"
Isn't that like telling God what's okay to reach people with?

1 John 5:7
7 For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.
KJV
This verse is removed by 32 prominent pasters of christianity because they considered this verse is fabrication and infilteration.
O Christians, bring any argument if your trinity and christianity is truthful?

Alot of churches today have the idea that "Everybody's welcome", but they really dont practice that. Alot of churches focus inward on their own views, ideas, and people, instead of doing what the Bible says about reaching the outward to the lost and dying world and getting them to know Jesus Christ as their own Lord and Savior.

There are alot of churches making church seem like its just for church people instead of all people. Jesus said in Luke 5:31-32 "It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but the sinners to repentance." When alot of churches don't go out into the community and spread the gospel but focus only on themselves they destroy themselves from the inside out, then they wonder why their church isn't growing.

Alot of churches make it difficult for non-believers to have a relationship with Christ. They set standards and rituals you have to go through just to be accepted. I just want to her others views on this.

In the name of God, the Gracious, the Merciful

O People of the Book! there indeed has come to you Our Messenger, after a break in the series of Messengers, who makes things clear to you lest you should say, 'There has come to us no bearer of glad tidings and no Warner.' So a bearer of glad tidings and a warner has indeed come to you. And God has power over all things.

Say, 'I have no power to do good or harm to myself save as God please. And if I had the knowledge of the unseen, I should have secured abundance of good; and evil would not have touched me. I am only a Warner and a bearer of good tidings.'

And, in accordance with the requirements of truth and wisdom We have sent it down, and with truth and wisdom has it descended. And We have sent thee only as a bearing of good tidings and a Warner.
