I don't think it was meant to be buried. It was meant to sit in the Jewish temple in Jerusalem. But today a Muslim mosque sits there. The ark is lost unless Indy Jones has found it.

A hotly debated topic...
Many have assumed or presumed that the Ark of the Covenant is here, or that it's there. Many today believe that it is hidden under the Temple Mount, but of course, Islam and the Palestinians will not allow any searches of the underground caverns, secret rooms, and tunnels of the Mount. Finding the Ark there would prove beyond a doubt that the Temple Mount belongs to the Jews, and that their claim to the land precedes Islam's.

There are many stories, the most famous of which is that the Queen of Sheba took it back to Ethiopia after visiting Solomon, and the true ark was replaced by a replica, which would have been destroyed when the temple was destroyed by Nebuchadanezzar. There are rumors that people do know where the original is but are waiting for the reconstruction of the Temple before it is disclosed.
But who really knows?

According to the Bible account in the book of Genesis, Noah's Ark came to rest over 4300 years ago on the mountains of Ararat.
Based upon the information which I have gathered, I believe that Noah's Ark does exist on Mount Ararat also known as Mount Judi by some Muslim scholars. It has been preserved all of these years by the hand of God and exists the ice fields on Ararat.

I did a research of this a few years ago

The Ark of the Covenent was lost before the time of Christ and was thought to have been stolen away. There are rumours that it is being kept in secret in Ethiopia by Coptic christians as a sacred relic.

It doesn't matter where the Ark is located, if you don't believe in Christianity and the Bible now, it really wouldn't make a difference if another piece of evidence were found to go against your view.

Some say Noah's Ark is on Mount Ararat in eastern Turkey, where it may have come ashore after the rains stopped.

The Ark myth is a rewrite of earlier pagan flood myths. There never was an Ark so its not buried anywhere.

If you are believer don't ask such questions needing logical answers. if you are a non believer consider it was a story.
