I never really knew what that meant. Does anyone have any suggestions as to the meaning?

It means that you chose to be born when and to whom you were. You knew ahead of time some of the circumstances that you would face in this life and you chose to experience them.
Pure intent = purely intentional, with full awareness and not by chance.

Well, first of all, how could you come into this life anything but pure? After all, I'm assuming you came the way we all did, as a newborn baby. Second of all, my best interpretation of it is that you came into this life with a mind and heart that wants to do good towards others.
Thirdly, I agree with the first guy, that whatever you paid for this was too much. I think you are the best judge of what you came into this life to do.
