Stop the bloody madness will you?

2006-12-01 07:35:38 · 15 answers · asked by AFLAC 2

I was hiking along a river and all of the sudden felt this cool breeze rush throughout my body and then I felt a massive tingly sensation. I couldn't feel the floor and fell to my knees, dazed and confused. There was no one around to witness what happened, but in about 30 seconds, I could feel my feet and legs again except I felt incredibly strong and my mind was focused, sharp as a razor and I had explosive energy for the rest of the day.

Do you think a spirit rushed through my body and took all of my negative energy away leaving me feeling so good?

The New Encyclopdia Britannica states:

“Neither the word Trinity nor the explicit doctrine appears in the New Testament . . .

“The doctrine developed gradually over several centuries and through many controversies. . . .

“It was not until the 4th century that the distinctness of the three and their unity were brought together in a single orthodox doctrine of one essence and three persons.”

The New Catholic Encyclopedia makes a similar statement regarding the origin of the Trinity:

“The formula itself does not reflect the immediate consciousness of the period of origins; it was the product of 3 centuries of doctrinal development.”

On the board, in the debate about God, there is no 100% absolute provable truth?

And faith alone, either faith and belief in God, or faith and belief there is no God, is where your certainty lies?

There is no absolute?

How would you answer God back?

Because if he did, he wouldn't let people kill in his name.
Religious folks say he can answer prayers, therefore, that he can have a physical effect on things.
If he can have a physical effect on things "because it's god's will" why wouldn't he intervene on those who wish to kill others in his name?
Hasn't he got any power until we die? (Supposedly?)
What use is his almighty power?
Did he get exhausted making the world?

Ask questions about atheists, then proceed to bash them, instead of bringing up debatable answers? Is this what Christianity is to you? To hurt because you feel threatened. Does their logic and questions threaten you? Do you know what you are talking about? Are you willing to look at their point of view, look it up, google it. Reply with another point, with dignity and awareness?

Please, be a representative of Christ. Swinging the sword as Christ is being led away, is wrong. Lotta ears laying around.

Genesis 22:11
But the angel of the LORD called out to him from heaven,

Genesis 28:12
He had a dream in which he saw a stairway [ Or ladder ] resting on the earth, with its top reaching to heaven, and the angels of God were ascending and descending on it.

Deuteronomy 2:25
This very day I will begin to put the terror and fear of you on all the nations under heaven.

Deuteronomy 4:39
Acknowledge and take to heart this day that the LORD is God in heaven above and on the earth below.

Deuteronomy 32:40
I lift my hand to heaven and declare: As surely as I live forever,

1 Kings 8:23
and said: "O LORD, God of Israel, there is no God like you in heaven above or on earth below—you who keep your covenant of love with your servants

2 Kings 2:11
As they were walking along and talking together, suddenly a chariot of fire and horses of fire appeared and separated the two of them, and Elijah went up to heaven in a whirlwind. \

Sounds like it's in space to me....

I am aquainted with a man who is a pastor of a Baptist church. He makes it a habit of riding around with a volunteer ambulance and fire rescue. His mission is to catch someone so gravely injured that he can convert them as they die, basically. I find this very disturbing. What do you think?

i like her because she is doing an experiment on people's responses.
i have a very strong suspicion that julia is a psychology student doing her thesis on christian response to her anti christian questions and answers.
all of us here on Y!A are providing her with easy and valuable answer for which she would have had to go round asking on the steets. It's very cold these days so I forgive her for being slightly naughty.
i most humbly plead to the christians not to provide any nasty answers. If you can ignore her that would be the best but i doubt that christians will do that.

My brother says God will punish me for having a baby without being married . He's a religious person, and his church says people should be married before thgey have sex . Does the Hindu religion say it's all right to have a baby without being married ?

This is mostly to my atheist friends.

I think that our soul is our consciousness.

Example: I ate too much last week and I gained weight that I want to get off. To do this, I have to limit my calories to under 1000 a day. Thirty minutes ago I took my son to Sonic for a Frito Wrap. I love those. I have not eaten at all today and I am hungry. My brain says get one, feed me. My conscious said NO. So I came home and had an apple. My will power is my soul.

Now, if I don't keep some food in my stomach, my brain will shut down my metabolism to protect my body. So, I have to fool my brain by eating fruits and veggies often. They are harder to digest, so my brain increases my metabolism. My soul is manipulating my brain and my body.

My soul exercised my own free will over what my body desires.
Does this make sense to you? If not, why? Please remember you are speaking to a simple girl from Texas so don't use too many big words on me. Please!

Love ya.
Sharon

He is not at all spiritual and thinks that there is no life after death. He says the bible is a big lie and when you die, there is no heaven or hell. Death is the end! He also thinks that all religions and churches are a big money making scam. There is not even one good one. I just don't understand this thinking, because he says that there is a God. How would you catagorize this person?

According to Bible Jesus was born with perfect nature and lacked nothing. He did not have any sinful or unholy hature in him. But he was still tempted by devil. How is it possible? Temptation is an internal struggle or conflict between our lower nature and our consciousness . How could perfect Jesus be part of this conflict? Does anybody else find this to be inconsistent or starnge? Or maybe I am missing something.

That It's Impossible to know God with the human Mind - and that's your problem.. we are humans and we want to see everything with the natural eyes - but God want us to see him through the Spiritual eyes... That's why people are so blinded. they want to understand God's power scientifically . HELLO,, THAT cannot happen because God is spirit - we cannot prove that scientifically - physically, etc..

That's why Faith Exist - can you try to prove faith scientifically ?? .. NO YOU CAN'T so God too.

You will never ever understand God ...humanely speaking IT'S IMPOSSIBLE.

that's why you guys don't understand. he requires FAITH

and Please don't tell me that faithdoes not exist - i will not take that as an answer

Did God make a mistake by putting Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden, where they wound up making their own choices-the wrong ones? (Genesis 3:6).
Did God have to confess failure by the Flood, in that He had to wipe out all mankind for its wickedness? (Genesis 6:5-7).
Was the Tower of Babel a total disaster, and was the confusion of tongues a catastrophe? (Genesis 11:1-9).
Was it a mistake when Moses, the adopted son of Pharaoh’s daughter, killed a cruel Egyptian taskmaster and had to flee for his life, and ended up living for forty years in the wilderness, tending sheep as a humble shepherd? (Exodus chapter 2). Wasn’t that a terrible setback to the cause and the deliverance of his people?Did God make a mistake when He chose Saul to be king of Israel, considering the way Saul turned out? Was Saul a failure? (1 Samuel chapters 9-22). I would write more but I dont have enough characters to wrok with! I could make a num# 2 of this if you want .. Any way Im just curious about this...
