I was hiking along a river and all of the sudden felt this cool breeze rush throughout my body and then I felt a massive tingly sensation. I couldn't feel the floor and fell to my knees, dazed and confused. There was no one around to witness what happened, but in about 30 seconds, I could feel my feet and legs again except I felt incredibly strong and my mind was focused, sharp as a razor and I had explosive energy for the rest of the day.

Do you think a spirit rushed through my body and took all of my negative energy away leaving me feeling so good?

Well, you said it: you got an energy boost out there in nature. It is not nesseccary for a spirit to rush through your body to energiese you. Maybe it would be interestig to know hwat you were thinking at that time and if this experience was an answer to your question/prayer. Tingling sensation is usually caused by your own spirit rejoicing about something. Hence many people get goosebumps when somebody tells them the truth about something.
Cool breeze (if not windy) usually are made by spirits passing by or being near you...

I think you got warm from your walk, the cool breeze from the river evaporated your perspiration, making you really cool, and because of the combination of th eexercise, the refreshing feeling, and the outgdoors, you suddenly felt exhilerated. The sensation lasted all day.
EDIT:
I would add the adrenaline rush that others have mentioned, and also the fact that you were attributing a supernatural source to your experience, must have added to your "high".

It's hard to say -- sometimes when we're out in nature the atmosphere can benefit our bodies temporarily -- fresh air, lots of ozone, etc. I personally think it was something that happened internally, not some sort of external willful thing like a spirit.

Seriously? You were walking along and relaxed to the point that your consciousness opened up to the Universal Oneness. I don't know how else to say this, I know it sounds trite. It is when we are One with all that is. It happens to me pretty often and it makes life an adventure. To me, this is unadulterated 'God' that you have met on the hiking trail. I am happy for you.

Why in the world would it be a spirit and not something more physiological, like a burst of endorphins or adrenalin, or an emotional release.

It is difficult to know for sure. However, you are right to seek out the meaning. Unfortunately, I fear that no one here will be able to assist you. Be careful as you search not to place too much in a subjective experience.

No, I think you had a self correcting sugar low, which was enhanced by an adrenaline rush.

You fainted and your body produced more Adrenalin to get you on your feet again

You can be touched by the spirit of god. (And that is a gift) You would know.

But you could have a big breath of oxygen.

I do not know.
