According to Bible Jesus was born with perfect nature and lacked nothing. He did not have any sinful or unholy hature in him. But he was still tempted by devil. How is it possible? Temptation is an internal struggle or conflict between our lower nature and our consciousness . How could perfect Jesus be part of this conflict? Does anybody else find this to be inconsistent or starnge? Or maybe I am missing something.

I talk to Satan all the time, its not so bad when you realize he's just a prick. Anyone really close to God will most likely have to confront God's greatest advesary, Beezlebub. Jesus was just a man I think, not perfect but blessed with gifts of understanding the true nature of things. Are not we all born perfect? Its the world that changes us. Having sinful and unholy thoughts does not mean you have a sinful and unholy nature, if Jesus was talking to the devil then obviously he was having bad thoughts. I find nothing inconsistent, only the fact that he was somehow different from the rest of us, which I don't think he was, he was just on a higher spiritual level. The facts are if you want to be perfect you can, perfect in the sense that you don't lie, cheat, steal, never be negative, never give in to sin. ofcourse you will make mistakes but I believe if you put 100% effort into it you can be perfect in a sense.

Very good question... and time for some pretty heavy theology. (Mind you, this all comes from a Catholic-Christian point of view.)

Jesus is/was/ever will be 100% fully human, just like you and me. This means that he experienced fear, doubt, temptation, etc. At the same time, he also is/was/ever will be 100% divine. Jesus is the Son of God, but he *IS* God, as part of the Trinity. Jesus, like his mother Mary, were not born with the stain of original sin, because how can God who is perfect have that mark? (This is the "mark" of sinfullness that we believe all humanity gained from the fall of Adam and Eve. Remember, this is theology, so even though I personally don't believe that Adam and Eve were real people, it is the basis for a belief.)

The mystery and the conflict that requires belief is dealing with Jesus' dual nature of human and divine. This is what brings up questions like yours. Jesus was fully human and subject to human qualities and shortcomings as part of God's love for us. But it never changed the fact that the perfect divinity of God was still there. We can't make this work if we only think in terms of 3 dimensions and time.

Does this help, or have I muddied the waters even more?

Gee, I dunno why don't we just have everyone psychoanalyzed in the Bible? The facts remain a mystery without having witnessed everything from that time. It has been suggested as a warning about anything having been added or taken away in the Scriptures yet it was apparently done over time. From what I have read and gathered from the Bible Jesus was a spiritual person living within a physical world of suffering and pain.He saw his own future humiliation suffering, execution and death, cried and sweat blood. He was tempted not to go thru with it as I would imagine anyone would. If you cannot empathize with that part than you really are missing the point of your own mortality and his sacrifice for man-kind. A spiritual being need not endure these things but had to die like us because of our ignorance?

Jesus experienced no conflict. A more accurate description would be that the devil "attempted" to tempt Jesus; but Jesus did not have to weigh the possibility of sinning against the possibility of doing God's will, as we do when tempted.

Meschiach (the Messiah) by virtue of divine incarnation (G-d made flesh) was both human and divine therefore he could experience all that we experience in the flesh, but because of reliance on His divine nature (he prayed to G-d both morning and evening) was able to withstand the onslaught of the devil. He received insight from the Holy Spirit the way we Christians do today. He studied the word of G-d and used that human knowledge to defeat the devil in the wilderness as well as others. Most Christians will not point out to you that Dr. Luke covered approximately 10 years of Yeshua's life in one sentence. We are told that "He grew in wisdom and stature and in favor with G-d and man". In Hebrews we are told that He was tempted in all points as we are and yet without sin. He had to be born in the flesh so that (because without the shedding of blood there is no remission of sin) He could be the one time sin offering of which the Old Testament offerings pointed to.

Jesus Christ the only son of God was born with two natures. The human nature, and the divine nature. He was born and died 100% without sin. But that doesn't mean that his human side wasn't tempted. Jesus, being sinless, was able to resist that temptation.

Everyone gets tempted. Being tempted isn't a sin. Giving in is a sin. Did Jesus give in? No. Jesus is perfect.

Jesus is and always will be perfect, Jesus was not tempted it is a descriptive term of what Satan tried to do. Jesus in reply " You may not tempt the Lord your God." or when Peter tried to stop him from going to Jerusalem where he was to be crucified Jesus said " Get behind me Satan"
