Did God make a mistake by putting Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden, where they wound up making their own choices-the wrong ones? (Genesis 3:6).
Did God have to confess failure by the Flood, in that He had to wipe out all mankind for its wickedness? (Genesis 6:5-7).
Was the Tower of Babel a total disaster, and was the confusion of tongues a catastrophe? (Genesis 11:1-9).
Was it a mistake when Moses, the adopted son of Pharaoh’s daughter, killed a cruel Egyptian taskmaster and had to flee for his life, and ended up living for forty years in the wilderness, tending sheep as a humble shepherd? (Exodus chapter 2). Wasn’t that a terrible setback to the cause and the deliverance of his people?Did God make a mistake when He chose Saul to be king of Israel, considering the way Saul turned out? Was Saul a failure? (1 Samuel chapters 9-22). I would write more but I dont have enough characters to wrok with! I could make a num# 2 of this if you want .. Any way Im just curious about this...

God didnt make the mistakes-he knew that they were going to happen. But he wanted us (people) to realize that we made those mistakes and he wanted us to turn to him by ourselves. He could of made us all perfect people that believed in him from the start but instead he wanted us to shape ourselves through his word. This might not be really clear to you now but you are always welcome at churches to understand it more.

Would you believe (you may not, but that's your choice) that it all fits into the eternal scheme of things. G-d foreknew all these things, however He's bound by the parameters with which He designed the earth and how mankind operates. A note on the confusion of tongues, that was G-d's doing, for mankind's ultimate sake. Watch out because there is a repeat of the Tower of Babel under construction above our heads. His judgment is coming and those of us who are true believers know that His return is very near. I mean really near.

No God never made any mistakes But the roman catholic church made quite a few when they dreamed up the bible.

They added a lot of stories about the wacky Jewish God that had no place in a book about the teachings of Jesus .

God doesn't make mistakes. Most of the things you ask about are the result of free will. The most precious gift given to man, and I am sure a source of sadness for Him sometimes.

Well, all those things are only mistakes if they didn't happen according to His plan. If that's what He intended to happen, then I'd say it wasn't a mistake. And every one of those examples you listed happened according to God's will:
1) Garden of Eden: Mankind uses their free agency to learn and grow and they suffer the consequences of their actions.
2) Flood: Mankind uses their free agency to learn and grow, and they suffer the consequences of their actions.
3) Tower of Babel: Mankind uses their free agency to learn and grow, and they suffer the consequences of their actions.
4) The Exodus: Mankind uses their free agency to learn and grow, and they suffer the consequences of their actions.
5) The reign of Saul: Mankind uses their free agency to learn and grow, and they suffer the consequences of their actions.

I'm sure you could go on and on with more examples, and I have a feeling that my answers to each one would look pretty similar to the ones above. :-)

No! He did Not!

“It does not belong to man who is walking even to direct his step”?—Jeremiah 10:23.

How can a pot of clay say to his maker, 'You made me wrong!'

“Now, O Jehovah, you are our Father. We are the clay, and you are our Potter; and all of us are the work of your hand.” (Isaiah 64:8)

It must be remembered that perfection as it relates to humans is a relative perfection, limited to the human sphere. Though created perfect, Adam could not go beyond the limits assigned him by his Creator; he could not eat dirt, gravel, or wood without suffering ill effects; if he tried to breathe water instead of air, he would drown. Similarly, if he allowed his mind and heart to feed on wrong thoughts, this would lead to entertaining wrong desires and finally bring sin and death.—Jas 1:14, 15; compare Ge 1:29; Mt 4:4.

no god was quite an immature little brat though. to put to people he created, who knew not wrong from right, who based actions on insticts, placing a tree in the center with fruit that looked delicious. told them not to eat from it and then walked away.

try it with your dog, put a cookie on the ground. tell your dog not to eat it. leave. will the cookie be there when u come back?

or try it to a very young child. what is that outcome? this seems more cruel then anything else.
