Ask questions about atheists, then proceed to bash them, instead of bringing up debatable answers? Is this what Christianity is to you? To hurt because you feel threatened. Does their logic and questions threaten you? Do you know what you are talking about? Are you willing to look at their point of view, look it up, google it. Reply with another point, with dignity and awareness?
Please, be a representative of Christ. Swinging the sword as Christ is being led away, is wrong. Lotta ears laying around.

I have atheist friends. I have atheist family. I love them.
Have I seen how an Atheist replies? Yes....Is it all bashing? NO
Be civil. Be a representative of what you preach. What did Jesus do....bash all that disagreed or calmy told parables and teachings. His anger was slow. The money changers got to Him. Decieving those who wish to be healed by God.

In this case I can truly say "yes man, that is correct" lol. We can console ourselves in the fact that everybody else does the same thing, but it is particularly odious when Christians do it, because we are supposed to be different.

I like your question. I've only been using yahoo answers for a short while and it seems to be about 75 per cent trolling -- posting questions that people know will bother others and provoke a strong and usually pretty indignant response.
Good debate and dialogue revolves around patience, well-thought-out answers, and respect. Unfortunately, this is a lousy place for any of these things most of the time (hate to say it!). There are a few good Myspace forums for discussing theology in an open, respectful manner...TheRelevant, for example. They aren't without their trolls but it's a much 'safer' place than here.

Ok, here we go... No matter what belief, color, choice etc.. There always has been and always will be a group out of each who will bash, but there is a greater majority who are earnestly interested in hearing both parts of the story. As for the one's who enjoy bashing, look at them and wonder why? You'll never really know the answer. Good and bad in every group.

I think Christians have shown a great deal of tolerance(outside of trouble makers) towards atheists. Many have answered only in love and taking the trouble to give verses to back up what they say. These are not accepted. Many of the questions are not questions as much as the need to entertain the forum or themselves. I do not come with a basket of flowers to throw around to the Masses. I come in a language on their level so they can hear and hopefully receive. If not I feel no need to be a doormat to prove my loyality to Christ. It does not dimish my love or commitment to speak boldly

We Christians ask the same about Atheists all the time. Read some of the questions to Christians from Atheists and you'll see the same thing, though, usually much more degrading and insulting.

Dude, you obviously haven't read questions posed by atheists that were answered by Christians with intelligible unbiased facts to back up their claims. But people such as yourself give total disregard to that little fact and instead bash Christians yourself. Maybe we Christians are just kinda getting sick of tired of all the anti-Christian, humanist, liberal, rhetoric and gibberish that's constantly being shoved down our throat. Talk about proselytizing... who's trying to convert who nowadays? Seems like the atheists and humanists are doing a great job of it themselves. Talking about hypocrites? Look to yourself before looking to your self proclaimed enemies.

Your quite correct. Believers are in a position to represent God to others. Therefore, even if others are not playing nicely with us, we should not resort to those tactics. It is a worth while warning that you give to Christians.

I've always heard "Beware the False Profit". Many Christians take on this form when in this site, I don't understand it, it's wrong, we should all be respectful of each others beliefs or non-beliefs or whatever we choose.

Yup, you're right; debating is no fun unless we listen to each other, and we can't do that with our ears lying all over the place! ;-)
