I got this from a link someone posted...Has anyone heard of this?
Do you think it is true?

"Mithras was born in a cave, on December 25th around 300 BC of a virgin mother. He came from heaven to be born as a man, to redeem men from their sin. He was know as 'Savior,' 'Son of God,' 'Redeemer,' and 'Lamb of God.' With twelve disciples he traveled far and wide as a teacher and illuminator of men. He was buried in a tomb from which he rose again from the dead -- an event celebrated yearly with much rejoicing. His followers kept the Sabbath holy, holding sacramental feasts in remembrance of Him. The sacred meal of bread and water, or bread and wine, was symbolic of the body and blood of the sacred bull. "

I don't understand. Adult swim refused to air an epsiode of South Park which mocks Mohammad but yet South Park has mocked all other religions in previous episodes and those have been allowed to air. Now mocking religious figures in general isn't my cup of tea but when you mock one, like Jesus who constantly is in South Park, you should mock them all, right?

You are the only thing you need to believe in.
You are the one who carries yourself through the world.
You are ultimately responsible for yourself and your actions.

I have always asked this question. Everyone tells me it's all in faith. I just want to see what other people think about this.

And the Bible just does not mention it for whatever reason. It makes sense that some people would have believed him.

(Lets assume that for the purpose of this question, there was no doubt that this was the real, true god almighty that you believe in.)

First of all I have been looking at all the stuff about evolution. Lots of evidence there, you must admit. Also, I started reading the bible because I really WANTED to believe, but stopped at the first few pages because it was already sounding like a make believe story, it said Adam lived for 900 years or something ridiculous like that. All of the storys in the bible are pretty fake sounding to me. Why do people blindly believe all that stuff if it can't possibly be real. I mean, science is kind of the proof, I think. How can Adam and Eve really be the first humans if there is fossil evidence that we as humans evolved 150,000 years ago???

What am I if I believe in science and nature. I believe in a higher spirit that created the earth billions of years ago, I think he can hear prayers. I am 50/50 on the whole life after death thing. I also think people who are dead can hear prayers and are watching everything you do. What should I do? Pretend to believe even if I don't?

It happened a long time ago, in a book, told and written by men inspired by God? Are the people of this time not deserving to witness?
