The Haircut

A young boy had just gotten his driving permit. He asked his father, who was a minister, if they could discuss the use of the car. His father took him to his study and said to him, "I'll make a deal with you. You bring your grades up, study your Bible a little and get your hair cut and we'll talk about it."After about a month the boy came back and again asked his father if they could discuss use of the car. They again went to the father's study where his father said, "Son, I've been real proud of you. You have brought your grades up, you've studied your Bible diligently, but you didn't get your hair cut!"

The young man waited a moment and replied, "You know Dad, I've been thinking about that. Samson had long hair, Moses had long hair, Noah had long hair, and even Jesus had long hair...."

To which his father replied, "Yes, and they walked everywhere they went!"

Here are some that I know of personally. (My dad's a preacher)

An older man in our church was offering a prayer before the Lord's Supper and prayed, "Father, we ask your blessings today on this Fruit of the Loom."

An elder meant to announce in church that there would be a homemade candy pulling at Dick Crownover's house for the young people after services. What he said was, "There will be a d*ck pulling for the young people at Candy Crownover's house after church."

A pretty rough older man whom my father had been working on to become a Christian for some time finally accepted Christ and was being baptized. As the man entered the water he blurted out "G*d d*mn, that's cold."

A preacher was delivering a sermon standing behind a wooden lecturn when he looked down and saw his fly was open. He said, "Let's pray." He then knelt down behind the lecturn and while praying zipped up his pants. When he stood back up, though, he had zipped his tie into his pants.

What if you where asked to do something that was against your religion but if you did it would be against your hearts truth. Example. A priest or selabit is not supposed to touch a woman. What if her dress caut on fire and he could easily put it out by wrapping her up in the alter cloth to smother the flames. This is just an example, there are many other situations. Share any situations you may have had to go against your religious beliefs to do the rite thing.

I would very much enjoy it if anyone on this site would be able to prove to me if God does indeed exist.

So when my boyfriend and I (both Christians) used to have something like a make-out session, we would be seized with a guilt afterward, even though we never got close to sex. We knew this was God's conviction. We would pray about it and ask God to take the lust and temptation away. We've had a very healthy relationship, with lots of prayer and talking to our pastor and his wife about stuff... etc... The purity has been an amazing blessing from God. We also know that we as sinners will fail God 100%, and we understand forgiveness... we've never crossed the sex line, or gotten close. Last month, we decided to get married in the next few years, after we graduate from college-- this decision was also made with alot of prayer and counseling, and God has just confirmed our decision with many many answers to our prayers... We are still praying about it and for each other. But today we had a slight slip-up like the old make out sessions we used to feel guilty about...

I have to wonder, with such a high rate of people in this world who honestly believe that God can cure cancer or other diseases, why does no one ever come forward and report that God grew his leg/ arm back? Is curing cancer not just as miraculous as a limb growing back? Why does God hate amputees?
