It is impossible to disprove the existence of a god unless you start defining that god. You can then say that a certain god doesn't exist if it is given contradictory attributes..in the same way that a square circle can't exist..a god given contradictory attributes can't exist.

Epicurus does away with the possibility that the god of the Bible exists even before The New Testament was written.

“The gods can either take away evil from the world and will not, or, being willing to do so cannot; or they neither can nor will, or lastly, they are able and willing. If they have the will to remove evil and cannot, then they are not omnipotent. If they can but will not, then they are not benevolent. If they are neither able nor willing, they are neither omnipotent nor benevolent..Lastly, if they are both able and willing to annihilate evil, why does it exist? ” -Greek philosopher Epicurus (341-270 BCE)

Of course the Bible could be in error and the god could still exist.

An atheist's position is not that they can disprove all possible gods, or any god at all for that matter..It is that they merely disbelieve in the existence of gods. It is up to the person making the claim to prove that something exists. Otherwise I could say that invisible blue trolls are running around and if the default was to believe me unless you disproved my assertion..then you would forever believe that there were invisible blue trolls running around.

When you see an airplane racing down the runway and lift off into the sky, do you believe that it was created by intelligent designers or that it was merely the random result from an explosion at a scrap metal yard, that each piece of metal, every rivet, wire, piece of glass miraculously formed the airplane? Take a look around. It's pretty obvious. Intelligent design suggests an intelligent designer.

Actually the environment we live in is proof of science. I love how people throw God into this mix. Hilarious.

You can't look at a water bottle and say "You know what? God made this." It doesn't work that way. Who really made it? Humans did. Thousands of years of a search for knowledge has built up and then we used that knowledge to advance ourselves, thus the water bottle.

Similarly, you can't look at a mountain and say "God made this." Well sorry to tell you that he didn't. It was actually the elements that made that mountain. Numerous minerals combined to form the rock, probably some carbon forming up trees and plants, and air and water eroding the rock to form the shape of the mountain.

There is no proof of God and if you don't believe now then you probably will not ever believe.

My Jewish Friend: Someone basically just asked this question. Of course they cannot prove God does not exist and asking such is impossible on any side. We Christians believe through FAITH...that which need not be proven...its what is inside us, what comes from our heart to Him. Thus, proof of purchase not required. G-d Bless

Neither side can prove anything. If the existence or nonexistence of God could be proven, then this debate would not happen.

Nope, not the kind of proof that will be valid in a lab, but if you want proof, look out your window at the trees and grass, birds and bees and all other human beings and yourself.

That is proof of a creator.

Look around you....

ever seen a building without a builder?
ever seen a painting without a painter?
this world -- and you -- have a creator!
