Jesus answered this question with the parable of the Good Samaritan. Most people know this story, but I'll assume that you do not and give you a sort of recap.
There was a man going down the road (away from Jerusalem) who was beaten, robbed and left for dead by some thugs. As he lay there bleeding, a priest passed going up the road (towards Jerusalem, presumbly to a religious event of some sort) and did not stop to help. He did not help because if he did, then he would be unable to officiate at the event he was going to (the laws of Moses says you are unclean if you touch someone's blood). Another priest did the same thing, he passed the man by because he did not wish to be unclean for 7 days.
Then a Samaritan came by and he picked the man up and carried him to a local 'hotel' where he put the man in a room and gave the 'hotel' owners money to cover his food and medicine, and promised to pay whatever the man owed when he came back that way.
Perhaps it helps to know that Samaritan's and Jews hated each other and had been bitter enemies for years. Jesus said that the Samaritan was the one who indeed "loved his neighbor".

If you have the right religion, nothing God asks of you would be against your 'conscience'... as a matter of fact, the right religion IS a conscience!! When Jesus was alive, it was against the religious mores of his day to work in any capacity on Sabbath. His disciples were hungry, and he fed them from a grain field on the Sabbath... showing that sometimes even the 'rules' have reason to be broken without recompense.

Your religion/religious beliefs, conscience, and your hearts truth are all supposed to be one and the same. If they conflict, a change is in order!

God understands the intents of the heart. No religious restrictions placed upon us by man can over rule God! In your example the priest would be well in his God given right to help the woman. It is what God would demand him to do.

In the Bible, when the Israelites broke God's commandments (again), he had pity on them. He understood that the rules were many and difficult to follow, so he told them that whereas before, his law had been written in stone, now he would write it on their hearts. When in doubt, always follow the law that is written on your heart.

This question is oxymoronic in nature.
Since your conscience and religious beliefs are synonymous, if they conflict it is not your conscience deterring you from doing something but a temptation or desire of sin.
