Whatever happened to agape and compassion?

A very wise man once said: 'Judge not lest ye be judged.' He also said 'Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you,' 'Be merciful, even as your Father is merciful,' 'the measure you give will be the measure you get back,' 'God is love, and those who abide in love, abide in God.'

What happened to 'the Lord's servant must not be quarrelsome but kind to everyone,' what Christians here can say they are really abiding by the Bible?

Just my two cents,

If so, Why bother knocking on strangers doors? I mean after all if the number is set, it doesn't matter if you add to the Kingdom, right?

I am a christian that needs help remembering to pray enough! There was a time that I could spend all day praying - just a non stop talk with God. Now I feel that my prayer life is suffering and I don't know why. I try to study the bible daily and I have a book I am doing right now, but I am not going forward in my walk because of lack of prayer. It's not just that I don't pray, but I often can't keep focus long enough to pray. What can I do?

Where in the New Tesament does Jesus expand upon "Thou shall not kill" into something like 'You shouldn't even get angry, because anger is what leads us to kill.'?

which is the true religion ?

dont you see the difference between saying which is true .... and which is a good religion for you ?
dont you realise that anyone who has religious beliefs ... or a book they follow ... will of course believe that theirs is true also
this does not invalidate your beliefs ... but it does not make others any less valid
how can you profess to know the true religion if everyone else says the same about theirs ?

I really dont mean to disrespect anyone , but would love to hear your answers
please remember not to say because my book says so ... because this is the very point i am making .... there are other books that say so also that are different from your own

I am a Christian and look to the word of God for direction in these matters as best I can.Yet I still want to learn.I read in Colossians 2:16 that we are not to let no man judge us in meat, drink, respect of a holyday, new moon,or sabath.I tell my children, grandchildren now about Santa Claus and they get so excited.I prefer that over sex-ed and evolotion. When they get older we get a laugh out of it.At the same time we set around and read the Christmas story and share about God and Family. We celebrate all the holidays in the Spirit of Christ. It appears that the devil is always trying to mimick God.

As democtrats or republicans they normally vote based on the layalty to their gang rather than based on the facts.

And shouldn't the presidant be an independant at all times?

Also, people you are not supose to be voting as D or R. You are not D or R. You are supose to be humans voting D or R depending and based on the issues and facts. This way you won't vote base on what gang or group you pertain to.

Remember when Tony was telling poor little Danny the words "REDRUM...REDRUM!!" It seemed real enough to me, I mean, at least Tony was properly advising Danny such that he was able to save his life poor Jack loses his mind and wants to kill his son.

I bet you think your relationship with God has more substance than Danny's relationship with Tony the talking hand....isnt that right? Ok, so contrast your cool little relationship with God from that which Danny had?

Ex: My relationship with God is more real than the kid who was talking to his hand named Tony because God appears to me in physical form and takes me square daning every thurday.

And I mean every song ever written that anyone else, besides even you, would think of as funny? And, with that and a negative response in mind, then are Trey Parker and Matt Stone going to Hell in punishment for their depictions of God, Satan, and various other characters in their show, South Park? (Don't forget about Mr. Hanky the Christmas Poo, either.)

Why is that everytime someone asks a supposedly "insulting" question, people take it so seriously? Why don't they understand that by insulting them back, they're basically doing the same thing? It's very ignorant, and I see people saying that "you shouldn't insult people" "you shouldn't do this" "you shouldn't do that" does it really matter? If anyone wants to insult someone come right out and say it. Everyone has the right to do it and I'm sure you all know this. People feel so bad when others insult them, but I feel sorry for those because how are they going to go on with their lives when they care so much about what others say? See, I know I'm going to get a lot of angry replies and thumbs down for this question but do I give a damn? No, so go ahead and do it, I'll be in front of the computer screen laughing my *** off.

have a nice day everyone
