The reason I ask this is I was working in a neighborhood where I heard on this loudpeaker outside was what I found out to be their "Call to Prayer". If you've ever heard it in a movie or on a newsstory, to hear it in person is a whole other jarring experience. Believe you me a "For Sale" sign would have been up if I had not got that racket stopped. And anyone wishing to get on me about..."but Church bells don't bother huh?"...let me answer you quickly....as long as it aint midnight, no normal Church bells don't bother me on a Sunday or like this Catholic church rings in my area at 6 pm in the eve. Not a chance on this God's green earth am I listenin to that Muslim hooolabooola. By the way I think it was at the crack of dawn no less!

I became a Christian about a year ago, so I'm still learning. The Pastor asked me to work with these pre-teens. Im 32 yrs old and have made a lot of bad choices in my past, I feel I am now on the right path. These kids opened up to me....a lot of them are hurting inside about family problems, or simply have issues they need advise on. They have told me they cant talk to their parents about stuff.......so I have been 100% honest with them, and use some of my past as examples. Do you think it's ok?? (that I dont have much expierience in this?) Some quiestions they ask in a journal I provided for them are deep!

How do you deal with the Holiday Season? My family was never religious, Christmas for us has always been a time to get together and give eachother presents, not as a religious holiday.

Rev. Carlton Pearson's flock went from 5000 to a couple of hundred after his revelation that there's no hell. Anyone want to comment on the dynamics involved?

I am in an awful lot of debt because of college tuition, books, supplies, etc. I don't waste my money, but I've had to buy expensive prescriptions (one of my pills alone costs $268 a month. I've started cutting them in half to get 2 months out of it). And I'm to the point that I have to put groceries and gas on my credit card.

Now I have $7000 on my credit card alone. This doesn't even count all the student loans I have.

I've been sick and not able to work as much as I need. Pray that I get well enough to work. And that I can somehow get the money to pay off at least this credit card debt. The monthly payments are getting out of hand.

My guide to Judaism lists anywhere from 1-6 hours between eating meat and eating something with dairy, I'm wondering if there is a set time limit or if it's up to the local synagogue/congregation. Also, does chocolate count as a dairy product under Jewish law?

Any suggestions? Ephesians 6:10-21 says:

10Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes. 12For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. 18And pray in the Spirit on

A pervious question asked about why people pray. The American Heart Journal is going to publish a 10 year study that says that we you pray for someone, the chances of recovery of the patients are reduced.

These are some news sources I’ve found
http://www.timesonline.co.uk/article/0,,11069-2112892,00.html
http://www.nytimes.com/2006/03/31/health/31pray.html?ex=1301461200&en=4acf338be4900000&ei=5088&partner=rssnyt&emc=rss

The Journal article is found on this web site

Do you believe that this study is correct? Please back up your responses with sources so I can learn more

A month or so ago I heard of a discovery of a 3 year old girls skeletal remains in Africa. I beleive they said she was the oldest skeleton to date and her hands/fingers were long and curved for tree climbing like a monkey? It would seem to me to be the missing link between man and ape but why is it not more publicised?
