I don't know. I'd be crushed. You probably won't any reasonable answers from believers because then they'd have to be honest and express some doubt.I haven't heard that yet.

The mistake you make about true Christianity is that we live for the future and are totally disconnected from everyday life because we are so heaven minded. Lets assume that death is the end and there is nothing what do I have to lose absolutely nothing. I would have lived a great life with great principles that allow me to relate with great civility and love for people like you. I have led a peaceful life in the midst of chaos. I have treated my body with great respect not destroying it and many great benefit of having Eternal Life. What if I am right and your spirit does not die with your body and the death burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ was the only sacrifice to free your soul and spirit from hell and you reject this great offer because you refuse to believe. My friend you have way more to lose for not believing than I do. The reality of heaven is evidence by the life I have now and will continue in when I die physically.

Seriously, how would they know? They'd be dead!

But let's say theoretically, that for a short time after death, they were somehow able to realize that death was really all there was. Then how would they feel?

I'd guess very disillusioned and severely depressed. It won't be a flippant, "Gee, I guess I was wrong!" It would be a very seriously painful realization. They would not have prepared themselves to accept a life that ends only in death. So it would be really bad.

If you are dead, you do not feel anything so the answer to your question from a Christian is NOTHING!!! And I am very serious. Ever cut someone that is dead? If you did, did they say anything or flinch? I can assure you they do not feel a thing so I am dead serious when I say believers that find nothing but death at the end will feel nothing at all.

well, you don't know anymore about what happens (if anything) after physical death than the Christians do. you could be correct that after the chemicals of the dying brain cease to act and react all is void.

but while those brain chemicals are interacting the dying person experiences visions and what one envisions as one dies may have everything to do with what one believes, what one expects to happen. Christians might actually meet their Lord and go to heaven in those moments while the brain is dying and those few moments might be as an eternity.

If I died and found that I was wrong and there was no God, then I would realize that I have lived my life the best way I could. I tried to live a life that would be God honoring. Then I would just be dead. Nothing lost. But you on the other hand---What if you die and find that all this time you blasphemed God and lived the way you wanted and had to go before the throne of God, and give an accounting of your life. How do you think you would like the bitterness and loneliness and gnashing of teeth in hell.

How will non believers feel when they get to the end and find that God is real and Jesus waiting? It could work the other way, you know. If there is no God, who have I hurt? But my faith is strong and I know without a doubt that my God is real.

if all there was waiting was death then i wouldn't worry about it at all since i would be dead. however since i know not just believe but know there is God i know that i am not going to just die and that is that nor will anyone else we are all going to be judged and either go to hell or heaven and that is that.
