Cave men/women is not a particular period in history. Throughout human existence some people have lived in caves and some in houses, indeed some people still live in caves today. If there was a nuclear war or some other disastrous event, caves might become a good refuge for housing people until buildings could be reconstructed.
When Adam and Eve were expelled from the garden of Eden, it is possible they may have taken refuge in caves, until they were able to construct a dwelling.
The notion that cave men were some sort of primitive human is sheer nonsense, invented by evolutionists to fit in with their story that we have evolved from some primitive ape ancestor.

No they were very smart and the earth at that time would not have had caves because the big flood of Noah would not have happened yet, That big flood would have changed as near perfect world to far less than perfect which would include caves and other earth disruptions. The cave people you speak of would have happened after the flood because of big weather changes and the ages would have changed. You will have to do a strong followup and read the account of Genesis closely to see how the ages changed from the 900 years of Adam to less than a hundred years from Moses on down.
In these days of refuting evolution you really have to become a real student of scripture and believe all of the bible as God's word. So keep asking the questions with an open mind. Thank you for the question and God bless you.

Adam and Eve are part of Western civilization's creation myth. The creation myth is a metaphorical story of how we came to be. It is the stuff of fairy tale, and has been very useful in the past. But we must not continue to use fables like this to base our beliefs on. Adam & Eve did not exist as persons. I know some fundamentalist Christians believe they did exist, but I think they need to eat a more balanced diet.

No, Adam and Eve were not real.
Mitochondrial Eve and Y-chromosomal Adam were in fact cave-people.

Adam and Eve is a fictional story. A guess by an ancient author as to how the world may have began and how we may have gotten here. It's not historical, there is no truth to it.
