It is true that Jehovah's Witnesses are not loved by everyone.
http://jw-media.org/newsroom/human_rights.htm
Some people hate Jehovah's Witnesses out of ignorance, or over some misunderstanding. A few may have had a bad personal experience with an individual who claimed to be a Jehovah's Witness, and prejudicially extended their animus to this entire Christian religion.

However, it seems that the majority of anti-Witness hatred is motivated by religious intolerance and bigotry. A few may even be motivated against their Christian worship by the unseen 'god of this system of things', Satan the Devil.

(2 Corinthians 4:4) the god of this system of things has blinded the minds of the unbelievers

Interestingly, such "hatred" should be expected by true Christians in this time of the end, and it actually helps identify Jehovah's Witnesses as Christ's true disciples:

(John 15:19) If you were part of the world, the world would be fond of what is its own. Now because you are no part of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, on this account the world hates you.

(Luke 6:22) Happy are you whenever men hate you, and whenever they exclude you and reproach you and cast out your name as wicked for the sake of the Son of man.

(1 Peter 4:4) Because you do not continue running with them in this course to the same low sink of debauchery, they are puzzled and go on speaking abusively of you.

(2 Timothy 4:3-5) For there will be a period of time when they will not put up with the healthful teaching, but, in accord with their own desires, they will accumulate teachers for themselves to have their ears tickled; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, whereas they will be turned aside to false stories. You, though, keep your senses in all things, suffer evil, do the work of an evangelizer, fully accomplish your ministry.

It seems signficant that the relatively small religion of Jehovah's Witnesses are the ones best known for their worldwide preaching work. Yet Jesus commanded that ALL who would call themselves "Christian" perform this public work:

(Matthew 28:19,20) Go therefore and make disciples of people of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the holy spirit, teaching them to observe all the things I have commanded you. And, look! I am with you all the days until the conclusion of the system of things.

I'm assuming you have not read the bible to make such an unfair statement. I don't know much about the Coran, but I do know the Christian bible. Maybe the best thing to do is read and understand the bible yourself first, then you can have enough information to decide if the witnesses are doing exactly what the bible says. Maybe they can show you in the bible why birthdays are prohibited? They assume since Jesus didn't celebrate his b-day, then no one should? Tithing was very much apart of the Old Testament, but not mentioned in the new? Therefore, giving money to help make their congregation grow, no way! Why do they call God Johovah? They believe God should be called by his first name, Johovah. God is our father. Do you call you father by his first name? Probably not. He would be called you father. Why? Because it's offending to call your mother, father, aunt and uncle by their first names. This could go on forever. The witnessed know why they have a bad wrap.

Because Jehovah's Witnesses are doing what the Bible says according to Jehovah's Witnesses only. People resent religious competition. It's a shame that God can't get the religions to agree. Without it religion conflict will continue.

I must beg to differ. Many people of many religions are doing what God has called them to do. Some are missionaries, some are teachers, some preach and pass out tracks on urban street corners, some are preachers, some have prison ministries, some are counselors, and still others help in community soup kitchens and shelters. A lot of Christian groups have home fellowships and what they call Cell groups. They "invite" people over to their homes for fun, food, and fellowship. An invitation allows a person the freedom of choice and they do not have to feel overwhelmed with someone continually knocking on their door. Mormons can be found going door to door in order to spread the word of God as well.

I think that many people are turned off to Jehovah Witness visits due to their frequency, sporadic hours, and sometimes their pushiness even though you profess your belief in God and profess your salvation. Not only do they want to talk to you outside of your door, but they want to come in to visit for a while. Even if you give in to their initial desires, they may extend their desire to visit you on many more occassions. This has been my experience. I am a Christian and feel that entertaining them in my home will only keep them from going to the homes of those that are in true need of salvation and deliverance, yet it does give me an opportunity to talk about Jesus with them.

One would think that if I profess my beliefs to them as well as my salvation, then they would say "Praise God!" and go on their merry way. However, my replies often seem to fall on deaf ears and they proceed to talk about their beliefs and hand me WatchTowers. If a person feels that they are being pushed into something or manipulated, they may not be so open to hear much at all.

All I know is that true salvation can only be found through the belief and acceptance of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Whether your salvation comes by way of a knock at the door or a chat next to the water cooler at work, you decide how you want to take it.

Well really, they are not but it is ok if that is what you think. They are not really treated badly. I had one tell me I was going to hell because I did not believe as they and would not let them in my house to "discuss" it with me. They were shocked, I think, because I pointed out that GOD has more names than Jehovah. He is El, El Shaddai, Elohim, Jehovah-Rophe, Jehovah-Nissi, Jehovah-Shalom...and that is only a few of the names.

There are many believers doing what the Bible says and if you would broaden your vision to include the world instead of your neighborhood, you would know that here are many, many believers dying for their faith; doing what the Bible says. .

because people dont want to hear it.
they hate being told that the way they live their life is wrong. even more when its a person they dont know telling them that. but we should respect other people's beliefs even if we dont agree with them

PS also because a lot of people have their own ideas of what JWs believe in (as shown above) and not all those ideas are right, but they wont bother to find out either

PPS also people get mad about them preaching on doorsteps but they are following the bible because the bible does say to spread the word to everyone, but not all christian religions do that

im neutral, i think one day God is going to come down and slap the **** out of all of us who fight over religions, I dont think he likes that. And you know every religion thinks that their religion is the right one . . .

First of all I don't treat anyone bad but I will tell you why I think others do.

The knocking on the door thing:

Everyone has the right to believe what they wish as long as they don't interfere with the rights of others. They have the right to want to share their religion but I also have the right to privacy in my own home.

I don't mind them doing what the Bible says as long as they don't do it on my doorstep.

I am perfectly happy for them to follow any faith or religious belief that they choose but they have no right to bother me on my own doorstep to ram their beliefs down my throat. They wouldn't like it if I interrupted their weekends by knocking on their doors and telling them to become atheists.

My response has always been that if I wouldn't buy a set of brushes or encyclopedias sold door-to-door them I'm hardly likely to buy into a new religion being "sold" that way. Tell them that they're behaving like door-to-door salesmen - it seems to annoy them... I haven't had a visit from them in ages.

[and is there a special traning school that they go to that teaches them to walk slowwwwwly and like they're gliding on hidden wheels?]

Hmm, that's funny -- I've read the bible dozens of times, and I've never seen anyplace where it says you should go knocking on people's doors on saturday mornings to pass out comic books about your religion and annoy people... Perhaps you could show me where it says that?

Besides, they're not the only ones -- mormons go door to door also, and so do some other religions. People often treat them badly because they disturb us, they annoy us, they come back even after we tell them we're not interested, they are pushy and won't take no for an answer...

Check out the link below for a funny twist on the whole door-to-door religion thing :)

The bible does not say go door-to-door tying to either force the "word" or transfer people to that particular religion because that's a sinful way to go about doing things! Pluh!
