There is nothing wrong at all, with many or most of our holidays being agricultural in nature.
That does not mean that Christians can't also celibrate them in they're own ways. As I believe you said, you celebrate the idea of Santa. He is fun. And yet there is no Christian symbolism with him, but that is ok, you also celebrate Christ's birth.
As far as holiday's also being agriculturally based, that is ok and good, we all have to eat. And so we enjoy the times that things are planted and harvested, and rejoice in God's creation.
Many of the early festivals in the Bible are based on harvests, plantings, etc.
Jesus had wine at the last supper. An agricultural product.

Nothing wrong with - Santa Claus, Sex-ed, and Evolution.
Some holidays have pagan origins, but are rarely celebrated in a pagan manner these days - Christmas, Halloween, Easter, and other holidays which became adopted by early Christians. However, there is no direct connotation between those holidays and holidays of new, such as the Fourth of July, etc.

Your question was asked with respect and so i will answer with the same.
Yes Christmas, Easter and Halloween are all derived from Pagan traditions. the early Christian Church did some really awful things in the name of Jesus and God. they tried to eliminate any religion other than theirs.
but that was well over 1000 years ago.
the Christians tried to convert every Pagan to their religion. to do this they looked at what people cherished about their native religion and attempted to change their religion to emulate thoes things.
the Pagans celebrated the Winter solstice. this was a very importent celebration because it brought hope and joy to the community durring the hardest time of the year. it was also at this time that the days were at their shortest and was called the dark of the year. the winter solstice was the end of all of that. the days got longer and the Light returned.
the Christian celebration of the birth of Christ really could not be at a better time. Christ was the return of a guiding Light to the Christians. and the winter solstice is the return of light to the world.
the only time that it really buggs me, is when people act like Christmas is the only holiday that can be celebrated at this time and that christianity is the only TRUE religion. if people liver within the teachings fo their prophet they would see that love and compassion is what the religion is about. and they should attempt to emulate that above all of the hate and anger that is the face of modern christianity.
people need to celebrate. personally i celebrate the Winter Solstice with my Pagan Grove, Christmas with my family,
and every other holiday that i am invited to take part in with my neighbors. It is the dark of the year and the last thing that we should be doing at this time as argueing about who has the right god.
you celebrate Christmas to celebrate the birth of Christ.
i celebrate the winter solstice to celebrate the return of long days
someone else will celebrate their holiday. but the reasons are always the same.
Prace Joy and Love. and the ability to share and spread them.
I say Happy Holidays because there are many holidays happening at this time. some may feel that this is an attack on Christianity. it is not it is a recognition of everyone and their respective beliefs.
Happy Merry ChristmaHaunnaYulRammaKwanzica
Merry Christmas
and Happy Holidays.

you're no longer suggesting that there is something incorrect with celebrating pagan holidays like Valentines Day or Sweetest Day or Secretary's Day or Bosses Day, or Thanksgiving, Memorial Day, hard work Day, Independence Day, birthdays, New Years Day, hump day, motorcycle night, chuffed new week and so on? specific we accompanied some holidays from pagans, specific we created some materialistic huge spending holidays to warmth up the financial device. what's the huge deal. save your priorities right this moment and don't even think of of turning out to be a holiday like "provide to the poor and ravenous day" or a "permit's shelter the least of those my infants day". bear in mind, tax cuts, tax cuts and a extra moderen, bigger and extra effective church development for christ sake.

Well, as for mimicing God... where in the Bible does it show a Christmas Celebration? I don't believe it does. It gives reference to Easter, but a quick study will show that Easter (Eostar/Ishtar) is a celebration that was done before even Moses was born. A better question would be, why does Christianity use Pagan Holidays and then try to say they are from God?

Holidays. It is not possible to discuss all the observances held throughout the world. However, holidays that exalt humans or human organizations are not acceptable to Jehovah. (Jeremiah 17:5-7; Acts 10:25, 26) Keep in mind, too, that the origin of religious celebrations has a bearing on whether they please God or not. (Isaiah 52:11; Revelation 18:4) .

So what you're saying is deceiving children, lying to them, is ok? You may wanna read up on what JC said God said about such: Mt 18:6; MK 9:42; Lk 17:2. There's nothing that off ends chidren more than finding out they've been lied to by a loved one they should be able to trust to tell them the truth.
The Spirit of Christ(the end of the law), such Spirit of Grace and Truth thereof, is not into lying nor into deceiving. As for the devil (law), there is no law in Christ: is the end of the law... And that is why "in him there is no sin", since only law imputes sin... And why "that God"(all light and no darkness at all) was in "Christ"(all grace and no law at all) reconciling the world unto himself(2Cor 5).
The GRACE(Truth thereof) of our Lord Jesus Christ with you all. Amen.

remember it says that the whole world will be deceived-- if you are a christian then why do you lie to your children? santa? he is a lie. and one day the children will figure it out- so now what do you think is going on in their minds about Jesus? you can't see him either- is He a lie? see there is a fine line we walk- and if professing to be a person who follows Jesus- we must Do like Him, Yes? but to answer your question- the holidays that are celebrated are pagen- and My family no longer does these things- to each his own? but read the Word and He will show You what He wants You to do =. remember why Israel fell? what did they do to be sent into other lands? ( I know- these are for you to research) and what did God warned us NOT to do when we came into the land? don't be another christian that follows others- follow Him, learn His ways- and God bless you P.S. Sabbath or holy day are Gods festivals and days, not mans------

No not all. Veteran's Day, for instance... not at all Pagan. Or Independence Day... or Martin Luther King Day, or, well you get the point.
I find it disturbing, though that you prefer to lie to your grandchildren about a nonexistent fat man in a red suit than to tell them the truth about science and their bodies.
