What if I made no eye contact, asked for nothing, justlooked hungry and cold. I am not talking about the homeless situation, I have helped and know the signs. One person I drove 400 miles so he could be with his dad, told me that alot of "homeless" make much more money than i do.... noy to dissuade you from helping. If you see, it could be the Spirit directing you....you make the choice

if i seen you on the street for instance , i would give you money to buy food ... or bring you some food
if i could i would try to find you accommodation ... i honestly could not provide this myself though with 3 children at home and little room ( and for safety reasons )
but my final action would be to keep check and see how you are getting on with everything xxx

It depends on where I see you and what state you are in. I found it to be dangerous giving out change to homeless people on the street. It has happened as couple of times after I given a dollar or two I've been threatened because I didn't give enough. I was told to go to hell when I tried to give out a hat to someone who was asking for change. It was very cold, he didn't have one and I had no money.
Now I'm one of those cold hearted people that just walks past the people on the street. It is a problem, and I'm saddened at my own reaction and regardless of what I said, I really don't have good excuses.

My first thought would be, "what happened to cause this guy to get to this point?"
My first reaction would be to want to pass by unnoticed.
My final action could take two forms. If we made eye contact, and I felt there was a lead from the Holy Spirit to help, I'd ask you what you needed, and if I had it to give, I'd give it. I know this is true, as I have done this many times.
The other thing that could happen, is if I could see Satan in your eyes, and hatred, and it would scare me enough that I would just keep walking.

Well me being a female and you being a male, I would drive by you, then go tell my husband some man needed help. He would then go pick you up get you a change of clothes, a shower and a hot meal. Find out you problems, see if you were willing to work or looking for an easy hand out. If you were willing to work he would give you a job and a roof which to sleep under. If you were looking for an easy had out or just passing through he would steer you where you needed to go. Treat strangers nicely, in doing so some have entertained angels.

Very few people actually want help. They just want money. So many have bad mental problems from drugs or booze. It's impossible to help people who do not want to help themselves. Don't say they can not because they can if they want to bad enough. I have seen a person even blow out their brains then stop drinking.

I guess it wold depend on where I saw you cold and hungry and how much money I had. i would approach you and ask you if you wanted something to eat or if I could buy you something to eat. I would even try and show you where there was a shelter. i have done so many times.
